Using Satire Against True Christians; Shame on You -
03-01-2023, 03:50 PM
Finally there is some push back against the liberal New Yorker magazine. Recently is published a satirical piece about distinguished Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett. It portrayed her as calling for a recess in Court proceedings so she could look at the Bible on her computer.
This is so inaccurate. Judge Berrett would know well her Bible and not need to consult it on the internet. Especially she knows the passages the prohibit abortion and homerism. Plus, she could recite chapter and verse against trans. Making fun of her must stop.
New Yorker satire headline mocks those who search the Bible | U.S. News (christianpost.com)
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

I'll be brief, Mayor: Any assumption that Amy Coney Barrett knows, or has ever cracked open KJV 1611 is going to be wrong: The woman's a woman and she's a Catholic. She'll have a string of beads somewhere about her person, several plaster saints in her house and some blasphemously hideous stature of Jesus's mom in every room including the John.
As a Christian, it is your God-Given duty and right to be persecuted:
M't:5:10: Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
M't:5:12: Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
Joh:15:20: Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
They are not to be encouraged but tolerated - their end is beyond our worries and is in the Lake of Fire:
1Th:2:15: Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men:
It is so wrong to give these positions to women - they are loud and difficult to train and, quite frankly I am not surprised at the article. I was cheering along with the truth of it and was bitterly disappointed to find it was not so.
Now it's an entirely different matter to mock a Pastor: 2 Kings 2:23-25 refers.

Yesterday I read The Psalms and was encouraged to see how far God is prepared to go, because He loves us. Pastors and deacons are able explain for those deficient in reading comprehension (or unable to remember what they've read) and before that there were elders, who clearly have a similar function to judges. The books of Kings are also very reassuring, especially in relation to the function of prophets who remind us what happens if we neglect God and don't respond as He wants us to. In fact having a king in the first place was against His recommendation.
I Samuel 8:11-20a GOD'S STATEMENT ABOUT KINGS
This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your [précis]
sons (various functions)
daughters (confectionaries, cooks, bakers)
fields
vineyards
oliveyards (for his servants)
⅒ of your seed
⅒ of your vineyards (for his officers)
menservants & maidservants
goodliest young men
asses (for his work)
⅒ of your sheep and ye shall be his servants. And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the LORD will not hear you in that day. Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us; that we also may be like all the nations
Before that there had been judges, well-known Bible names like Othniel, Deborah, Jephthah, Ibzan and Samson. One of the judges was a prophetess, so it would be God speaking through her rather than she herself making any judgements – but that's a minor detail compared to the broader picture of what happens when we reject God's love. The protection He has promised is withdrawn, even when choosing a king against His advice as is explicit from the quote above. I think of it like going out in a hailstorm; I can go with an umbrella and be protected or reject the umbrella and get pelted.
God's blessings follow those whom He loves (and who follow Him) and one of those blessings is persecution. Part of following Him is obeying the Pastors and Deacons who, in turn, have specific requirements placed upon them.
I Timothy 3:12-13 GOD'S RULES FOR DEACONS
Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.
"Husbands of one wife" doesn't mean they should all be married to the same wife but the salient feature in all this is that Coney Barrett could not fulfil that condition and does not belong in the long line of judicial authorities, initiated by God all those years ago.

Even Trump's opponents seem to be using satire to win votes to themselves. The Hispanic woman, I think her name is Nikki Haley, is going around the campaign trail with the line, "We have lost the last three elections. We need new younger blood in the party."
Apparently, this is her effort to be funny. Trump himself has explained the reason it appears as though Democrats got more total votes is because of election fraud. He has the proof--though he has not revealed it just yet.
This kind of dark humor has no place in serious politics.

Brother Mayor, the longer I follow politics the more I see the wisdom of the Originalists. The job of the supreme court, and all courts, is to interpret events as if they were a man living in the year 1787. This is precisely the most perfect snapshot of reality available in all of history which must be preserved identically by those with the ability to channel the thoughts of men from more than 200 years ago. This is what the framers wanted, according to those self-selected to divine the intentions of the dead.

I think the word "revealed" fits well here. Our originalists friends on the Supreme Court have received the gift of seeing into minds of 200 years ago. It is obvious God gave that gift first to men. Then he allowed a woman, Mrs. Amy Coney Barrett, to repeat what the men have written.
The discernment of these current originalists continues to amaze. During the Constitutional Convention of 1787 the elderly stateman, Benjamin Franklin, suggested to distinguished men of the Convention that they begin each day with a prayer. This was hotly debated with the prominent Alexander Hamiton leading the opposition. Prayer was voted down. Later during the ratification by the states, Hamilton wrote many of the Federalist Papers telling voters God was really part of the new Constitution.
The uncanny discernment of our current originalists provides us with an understanding of Hamilton's opposing positions on putting Christianity into our government. In the closed Constitutional Convention, Hamilton was merely playing politics. His opposition to prayer there was not his considered position. Hamilton loved Jesus and this became clear during the campaign for ratification.
Praise Jesus and our originalists we can now understand this.

I know not everywhere has pledges of allegiance, or perhaps they do but nobody recites them or even remembers if there is one, suffering inevitable economic and social consequences as a result. Is there an "original" Pledge Of Allegiance? So far I can see one done by a Mister Bellamy with an accompanying salute and there could be earlier ones too, better described as original. Will these now be reinstated?
Thank you for taking my question.
