Some of the things they do just don't seem christian like. You can see their videos on you tube or their website @ godhatesfags.com. Insight needed please. Scripture welcome.

Westboro is a horrid group of liebral false christians if ever there was one.
I mean, they have a woman spokesman!
"But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence." 1 Timothy 2:10-12

You're very welcome. You should know that Westboro Baptist Church also twists other scripture too.
They believe God hates homersexuals more than other sinners. This simply isn't true. He hates all sinners equally.
"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." Revelation 21:8 (homosexuals fall under abominable).
They also believe that gays cannot repent for their crimes, this is also not the case.
"I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance." Luke 15:7
Notice that Jesus didn't say "except gays". LBC believes that those abominations can repent and live productive, sin-free lives as True Heterosexuals™.
Not to mention Fred Phelps is a former civil rights activist and five time candidate for office for the Kansas Demoncrat Party.
Why not stop dwelling on those horrid false christians and look into True Christianity™?

westborow is a satanic lust driven church driven by money which is collected through lawsuit's they get when a person beats one of them to death. They hate america, which is a quality no true christian can have, and have parties where it is believed they do methamphetamine every time a soldier dies in heathen Iraq. they are garbage wrapped in the skin of a non kjv bible. pure slander
Deuteronomy 6:5

Hello solafidechristiana
Why don't you pop on over to the introduction forum http://www.landoverbaptist.net/forumdisplay.php?f=16
and tell us a little bit about yourself before launching into controversial topics? After all, we would hate to have a person come here just to stir up trouble....
Right?

The Westboro Baptists went soft long ago. They are just another false Christian church that does not obey the Word of God. Just look at this picture of Fred Phelps:
That is clearly a cotton/poly blend. Now let's take a look at what the LORD says about mixed fabrics:
Deuteronomy 22:11
Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts, as of woollen and linen together.
True Christians™ keep every word of God's instructions, not just the convenient or fashionable parts. Consider the following verse of Scripture:
James 2:10
For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
II Thessalonians 1:7-9
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power
The man who is being progressively sanctified will inescapably sanctify his home, school, politics, economics, science, and all things else by understanding and interpreting all things in terms of the Word of God and by bringing all things under the Dominion of Christ the King. -R.J. Rushdoony

Oh, good. Another psychopath.
The man asked you to do what is expected of EVERYONE who joins this forum, which is to provide an introduction. If you'd read the Thread for Newbies, you'd know this, wouldn't you?
So kindly get over yourself.
As to your question, Westboro is correct that God hates fags. They ignore that He also hates liars, thieves, adulterers, divorcees (that is, adulterers), fornicators, all non-Christians, and more.
They're a one-note protest group; they do this because homosexuals are an easy target. Lots of people who ignore God's Word hate homosexuals because they think what they do in their bedrooms is "icky".
Westboro can get quiet sympathy from any number of adulterers, liars, hypocrites, fornicators, and non-Christians as long as they are only condemning homosexuals. If they called out all sinners, they'd get no sympathy for their cause from anyone.
They have read and fully comprehend how to use the following truth about humanity:
Quote:
When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.
When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.
When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.
When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn't a Jew.
When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.
- Martin Niemöller

When the homosexuals are eliminated by the AIDS, who do you think Westboro's next target will be?
Bible boring? Nonsense!

Seems kinda excessive to me?
"I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth such an one caught up to the third heaven. Corinthians II 12 : 2 (KJV)
Some interpret this as indicating that there are three different levels of heaven, a level for “super-committed Christians” or Christians who have obtained a high level of spirituality.

I don't recall standing up for gays REVERAND! I'm not offended by their anti gay protests and agree with it bud! I am understandably concerned of their calling military people "fag enablers". Everyone joins for the military for different reasons. I come for a strong christian upbringing so I agree with God hates fags. I am here to defend my military brothers and sisters by saying we don't agree with all the politics driven by the people who are in the government. We are Proud Americans! Got that Rev. Rodimer?

Yeah, those would be the Mormons who believe in 3 layers of Heaven.
Of course the fact that they also believe in magic underwear, submarines made out of Gopher wood, baptism for the dead, Garden of Eden was in Missouri, and that natives will turn white if they're baptized.
But hey, you want to run with a new age cult, you go right ahead.

That Phelps fellow from Westboro reminds me a lot of that other looney Marshall Applewhite.
Also Mr solafidechristiana, my Brother in Christ, Brother Nathan was merely asking you to perform a common courtesy by posting in the Introduction Forum. It is just a nicer way to get to know those whom decide to post on God's Favorite Forum. I suppose it is like offering a pleasant salutation or greeting on arriving at someone's home, or in this case Private Forum. Please remember you are a visitor here and as such, we do expect you to respect and follow the rules.
As to your service, I respect all troops. I am wondering where you were located in your post? I have spent some time in the M.E. as well, not in Military capacity of course but as a civilian working for The Lord!

I am truly for any misconduct on my part in these forums. I am recently involuntarily separated under honorable conditions E5, 13.5years in the NAVY(you can't retire as an E5 in the NAVY). I am currently in the Sacramento area, CA. Aircraft Mechanic studying for my A&P license in hopes of getting a job with the state firefighting aircraft. Once again I am sorry for any misconduct I have shown and am truly enlightened by this forum. God Bless You All.

Westboro is not widely known, in Australia - but quite famous(ish) in the U.K.
The most common comment I hear (mainly from Englishwomen) is that "ooo! don't they all look the same, [pause] ..they all look the same!"

I would assume this "friend" was a Mormon that was trying to work you into the cult. Was he "grateful" for absolutely everything? Was he into crafts? Did he spend every Monday with his family?

Of course they all look alike, they're all related. Westboro church is basically all one big family of about 70 people. The fact that men move there to obey their wives (Fred's daughters) rather than the girls going off to live with their husbands is another one of their Apostasies.
Ephesians 5:22-24 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
I don't remember any part of the Bible that tells husbands they have to obey their father-in-laws, but that is the law in the Phelps community. Oh, and God help the man that ever crosses Shirley.
Out of his 13 Children, 11 are Civil rights lawyers and 3 are estranged.
Son: Fred Phelps, Jr. (lawyer, employed by Kansas Department of Corrections)
Son: Mark Phelps (business executive, estranged from Phelps family)
Daughter: Katherine Phelps (lawyer, license to practice law suspended, estranged from Phelps family)
Daughter: Margie Phelps (lawyer, employed by Kansas Department of Corrections)
Daughter: Shirley Phelps-Roper (lawyer)
Son: Nathan Phelps ("Nate", gay rights and atheist activist, estranged from Phelps family)
Son: Jonathon B. Phelps (lawyer)
Daughter: Rebekah Phelps-Davis (lawyer)
Daughter: Elizabeth Phelps (lawyer, works at homeless shelter)
Son: Timothy Phelps (lawyer, employed by Shawnee County Department of Corrections)
Daughter: Dorotha Bird (lawyer, estranged from Phelps family)
Daughter: Rachel Phelps (lawyer)
Daughter: Abigail Phelps (lawyer)
So that's him, 10 children, 10 spouses, and who knows how many grandchilren (the math says about 50). Since Shirley has 11 and some of them are old enough to have children, you see how it is growing exponentially.
I am curious what is going to happen when Fred dies, especially since they consider funerals a form of idolatry.
