Can We Give Pastor Zeke the Title of Saint -
04-09-2020, 03:13 PM
Those rascal Catholics have highjacked the term saint. Apostle Paul addressed his letters to saints, those who ran his churches. The way Catholics use the term is not Biblical.
Perhaps the great man who runs Landover Baptist Church, Pastor Zeke, should carry that title. He would be Saint Pastor Zeke or simply Saint Zeke. I think we would all feel good about referring to him as a Saint.
I don't agree with the link that all members should carry the title of saint. But, the one who truly speaks for Jesus, Saint Zeke, is totally worthy.

Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

I like the idea, but I wouldn't want people to think that we're Catholics instead of Christians.

I don't think that Addison Bevere (How does he say that? 'Beaver'?) quite grasps what it is to be Christian when he says
Quote:
“I’m not ashamed of Jesus, but I don’t like the stereotypes and labels and stigmas that have attached themselves to what it means to be a Christian. It doesn’t resonate with me,” he shared. “It’s not that Christian is a bad word, but for me, it’s become something that feels cheap. When you Google ‘Christians,’ so often you’ll see words like ‘judgmental, hypocritical, backward, out of touch with reality.’”
|
He clearly has never read a Bible and has a mere passing acquaintance with the Words of Our Lord, Jesus:
Luke 6:22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company , and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.
Hardly a day passes without someone calling me "judgmental, hypocritical, backward, and out of touch with reality ”(often with a variety of pejorative and unfortunate adverbs attached). I am thus "Blessed."
If I am "blessed", I am Blessed of God and someone who is Blessed of God is, by definition, "a Saint".
Set against this is the requirement to be "humble", and I often say that, with the possible exception of Pastor Zeke, I am the most superbly humble person - It really is one of my many outstanding traits. So why would I, or Pastor Zeke require a title?
Mr Mayor, I think your idea is laudable but unnecessary: all we need do is mentally add the title but speak humbly and omit it.

I think actions speak louder than words. I believe Pastor Flint does not want us to regard Him as a saint or some all powerful deity. I feel He just wants us to follow Him as He follows God. So instead of giving Pastor Ezekiel lip service, I think what we can do and should do is sacrifice for Him as He does us. Tithe to the Pastors Discretionary Fund (PDF). Show Him we have blind faith in His every step through life.
Often, I think of Him alone in His bedchamber, the sound of a singular hair dropping echoing off from the solid marble and gold floors as He lays in His bed, a well worn Bible by His side. He needs to know that we are with Him, that we are thinking of Him as well, alone in his sheer bed shirt.
I cannot imagine the money it must cost Him to Save® all those young Pacific Rimming boys from being sex trafficked, then to feed them, not knowing what they are trying to communicate what with the gook grunts. Imagine the sacrifice.
So do as I do, share and give every last drop. Spread open that leathery wallet and share your love. Give it until you are raw with rapture.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

I agree with Brother Hutchins. Pastor Zeke is not the sort of person who would want worthless titles. Despite his good looks, he is a quiet, modest and self-effacing man, never thinking of himself but only of his many, many responsibilities to Jesus, President Trump, America and Landover Baptist Church.
During this so-called CoronaCrisis most of the better shops are closed, so that many of us find ourselves spending very much less than usual and therefore have more funds available for tithing and - need I mention it yet again? - Pastor's new jet aircraft fund. With so many airlines failing, they will be cancelling their orders and now is surely the time to buy? We might even get some sort of a deal, maybe two for the price of one!
Vaccinated by the love of Jesus!!!
