I just wanted to check in and see if anyone wanted to answer the questions I posed in my post earlier in this thread. If not, I will understand.

To the "person", just above me-Don't count on a reply unless you ask a GOOD question, bub. Who are you anyways? You better not be Jimmy, coming around here trying to embarrass me in front of all these nice people!
But back on the true subject of this thread, I used to tell the boys over at Westboro before every game that they'd better play their damnedest because there might not be another chance for them if God happened to give the nod to ol' Fred to start pickin' them off.
As for my own "son", though I shudder to call him that, I can only assume God hasn't asked me to kill him in an attempt to give him the chance to change his filthy, negro-loving, homosexual ways.
I can only hope that you get the chance to utilize some of the suggestions here, Brother Reproba, I am honored to know someone of such faith as yours!
By the by, have you considered getting any of your sons into FOOTBALL? God's favorite sport can always use 17 more strong arms and legs on the field! Let me know! FOOTBALL!!!

Sure, I will give it a try.

While it might be true God knows everything and does so in advance (he probably has seen all of space time already) this does not apply to us humans. So God learned nothing from testing Abraham because he already knew how it would end before it started. But Abraham learned a lot and I think that was the point of the test.

On a quick thought, why would you kill your children?
Look at muslims.
Their god commands them to send their children to kill your children.
Your god commands you to kill your own children.
Looks as if everyone wants your children dead.
Why not enlist your kids in the army and have them send to Iraq or Afganistan? Maybe tell your children to do a suicide bombing on the muslims, as they have shown you countless times that a defence against a child suicide bomber does not exist (noone suspects them).
I'm just asking the question of why to wait untill god tells you to, if you already know what to do. Send your kids on killing missions against the non-christians.

Well don't get me wrong. I highly prefer not to kill my kids (well most of the time that is). But if God would command me to kill them I would have to comply.

So far I have not received any commands from Him to kill my kids.

So far I have not noticed that, but I have a nice gun collection in case I ever meet someone who wants to kill my children. I assure you he won't last long.

Because God does not allow suicide.

Re: How Should I Prepare to Sacrifice My Child? -

An interesting question, all the more so as one thing to bear in mind is why the sacrifice is necessary.
God covers the majority of circumstances for human sacrifice:
- The Random Request (as you described)
- The Rashly Given Promise; Jephthah and his daughter Judges:11:29-40
- Eating them Deu:28:53-57
A Random Request
I suggest here that you simply accept the Word of The Lord – just do it. It will certainly ensure you of a mention in any further textual Revelation of the Lord and, on earth, few will forget your faith.
The Rashly Given Promise
Here you will recall, Jephtah does actually sacrifice his daughter. Many agree that the Lord moderated Jephtah’s entire life to ensure that it was a female child he sacrificed rather than a son. That aside, it must be done with deep regret.
Not, I hasten to add for any thoughts of the girl child, but because a promise before the Lord should be well thought out.
(For public reasons, it is best to maintain a sorrowful countenance for a lifetime.)
Eating Wives And Children
We may say here that this is no more unnatural than eating say, unleavened bread or a lamb. This is the ultimate sacrifice of wives and children.
We may say, “They feed the hand that bites them.”
It should be done without hesitation; without regret and without compassion. Your manly strength is required to defeat God’s Enemies. (It is not clear why God doesn’t smite them but, rest assured, there will be an explanation in Heaven.)
I hope this helps

Your own scripture shows that your "God" doesn't even KNOW that Abraham fears God until Abraham is about to murder his own son:
|
OK 2 things:
He asked Abraham to do so so people in the future could learn by example because if God had just looked inside his heart people in the future wouldn't learn as much about following god I THINK.

For a Christian you sure forget to capitalize God a lot.
Jesus loves you seriously bigtime. He’d hug you until your eyeballs exploded out of your skull if he ever met you. He’d windsurf across oceans of dead Nazis which he personally slaughtered just to tell you that your new haircut is the bee’s knees. Jesus is like the monster truck of love and you are an old Geo Metro which he will roar his massive engine over and crush your pathetic fiberglass frame into a crumpled heap. Praise Jesus, especially when it’s sunny outside because Jesus would totally be cool with you praising while you get a nice tan.

nobody in the Bible ever sacrificed a child to God. God even has a provision for the firstborn of men to be redeemed with animal sacrifice. If you are worried about God demanding the life of your child you need to pay a little more attention to the word, it's purely a reading comprehension issue

While a small mind might think that (because it is all warm and fuzzy) God has quite clearly stated other wise. He'd dash a childs head agains the rocks faster than you could ask for sprinkles.
1 Samuel 15
1 Samuel also said unto Saul, The Lord sent me to anoint thee to be king over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the words of the Lord.
2 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.
3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.
4 And Saul gathered the people together, and numbered them in Telaim, two hundred thousand footmen, and ten thousand men of Judah.
5 And Saul came to a city of Amalek, and laid wait in the valley.
6 And Saul said unto the Kenites, Go, depart, get you down from among the Amalekites, lest I destroy you with them: for ye shewed kindness to all the children of Israel, when they came up out of Egypt. So the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites.
7 And Saul smote the Amalekites from Havilah until thou comest to Shur, that is over against Egypt.
8 And he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.
9 But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them: but every thing that was vile and refuse, that they destroyed utterly.
10 Then came the word of the Lord unto Samuel, saying,
11 It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the Lord all night.
12 And when Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning, it was told Samuel, saying, Saul came to Carmel, and, behold, he set him up a place, and is gone about, and passed on, and gone down to Gilgal.
13 And Samuel came to Saul: and Saul said unto him, Blessed be thou of the Lord: I have performed the commandment of the Lord.
14 And Samuel said, What meaneth then this bleating of the sheep in mine ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?
15 And Saul said, They have brought them from the Amalekites: for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice unto the Lord thy God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed.
16 Then Samuel said unto Saul, Stay, and I will tell thee what the Lord hath said to me this night. And he said unto him, Say on.
17 And Samuel said, When thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the Lord anointed thee king over Israel?
18 And the Lord sent thee on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed.
19 Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the Lord, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the Lord?
20 And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the Lord, and have gone the way which the Lord sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.
21 But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the Lord thy God in Gilgal.
22 And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
24 And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.
25 Now therefore, I pray thee, pardon my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship the Lord.
26 And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord hath rejected thee from being king over Israel.
27 And as Samuel turned about to go away, he laid hold upon the skirt of his mantle, and it rent.
28 And Samuel said unto him, The Lord hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbour of thine, that is better than thou.
29 And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man, that he should repent.
30 Then he said, I have sinned: yet honour me now, I pray thee, before the elders of my people, and before Israel, and turn again with me, that I may worship the Lord thy God.
31 So Samuel turned again after Saul; and Saul worshipped the Lord.
32 Then said Samuel, Bring ye hither to me Agag the king of the Amalekites. And Agag came unto him delicately. And Agag said, Surely the bitterness of death is past.
33 And Samuel said, As thy sword hath made women childless, so shall thy mother be childless among women. And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces before the Lord in Gilgal.
34 Then Samuel went to Ramah; and Saul went up to his house to Gibeah of Saul.
35 And Samuel came no more to see Saul until the day of his death: nevertheless Samuel mourned for Saul: and the Lord repented that he had made Saul king over Israel.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

I suggest reading it a few more times. If you have scripture that contradicts the KJV, please, by all means, present it.

J'g:11:31: Then it shall be, that whatsoever cometh forth of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, shall surely be the LORD's, and I will offer it up for a burnt offering.J'g:11:34: And Jephthah came to Mizpeh unto his house, and, behold, his daughter came out to meet him with timbrels and with dances: and she was his only child; beside her he had neither son nor daughter.
J'g:11:35: And it came to pass, when he saw her, that he rent his clothes, and said, Alas, my daughter! thou hast brought me very low, and thou art one of them that trouble me: for I have opened my mouth unto the LORD, and I cannot go back.
J'g:11:36: And she said unto him, My father, if thou hast opened thy mouth unto the LORD, do to me according to that which hath proceeded out of thy mouth; forasmuch as the LORD hath taken vengeance for thee of thine enemies, even of the children of Ammon.
J'g:11:37: And she said unto her father, Let this thing be done for me: let me alone two months, that I may go up and down upon the mountains, and bewail my virginity, I and my fellows.
J'g:11:38: And he said, Go. And he sent her away for two months: and she went with her companions, and bewailed her virginity upon the mountains.
J'g:11:39: And it came to pass at the end of two months, that she returned unto her father, who did with her according to his vow which he had vowed: and she knew no man. And it was a custom in Israel,
J'g:11:40: That the daughters of Israel went yearly to lament the daughter of Jephthah the Gileadite four days in a year.
The comprehension issue is that you can't read.

brother, re-read what you are quoting please, it clearly says "bewail my virginity". She was sacrificed to God the same way as the child Samuel was, serving at the temple till the end of her life. Where does it say that she was killed on the altar?

A simplistic, fluffy-bunny Christian approach, totally lacking in all common sense.
Are you suggesting that Jephthah, who, in return for victory, expected to come home and see a duck or a sheep come wandering out and that he would have then taken it to a temple for bestiality?
J'g:11:31e I will offer it up for a burnt offering. It seems strange to me that Jephthah should set fire to his daughter before giving her to the temple...
The trouble with you is that you have no idea what loyalty our God inspires in the believer. You seem to be living in a little world of your own invention and your "god" is remarkably like you.
Go away: we should not be associating with disgusting people like you. You are bringing down the tone of Landover.

The child Samuel was sacrificed to God too, but it didn't prevent him from living on to be an old man. Why do you think is that? There is a difference between how (unclean) animals, and humans are sacrificed to God. The former are killed, the latter are redeemed
Num 18:15 every one opening a womb of all flesh which they offer to Jehovah, among man and among animal, shall be yours. Only, you shall certainly redeem the first-born of man, and you shall redeem the firstling of the unclean beasts.
Num 18:16 And their redeemed ones, from a month old, you shall redeem with your valuation of silver, five shekels, by the shekel of the sanctuary; it is twenty gerahs.

Probably because nobody set fire to him.

You’re mad. Beset by demons of delusion.
1. Unclean animals were never accepted as sacrifices: see how far you get at some Jewish temple offering a pig.
2 Of course animals and humans are different: we are like gods and have command over animals
3. John:3:16
4. Your verses relate to the time after Numbers was written.
5. To redeem does not mean “to dedicate to the temple”, it means “pay a fee to the temple upon”
Are you misleading people for fun?

wine and grains are not sacrificed in the same manner as animals either, by the way. You never see any wine killed on the altar of God in the Bible
