Frankly, a coal mine is a good place for her to be. She hasn't worked a day in her life, would be very positive to see her shoveling coal for the next few months or years. Maybe she would come away with a changed perspective. She may even meet a good Christian boy down in the mines.

That's interesting, Brother Dr. Toole, Sir. Although she was claiming to be about 12 when she first thrust herself (uninvited) into the public eye, she does seem to have aged very rapidly and now looks about 45. The sort of schedule you describe, combined with boredom at the monotony of pretending to be subnormal and frustration at being unable to raise her own children, would account for it.

I do wonder what her husband has to say about it all.

I can only assume there are no proper Finishing Schools in Sweden. The poor girl simply doesn't know proper etiquette when addressing her superiors. Perhaps there are some remedial classes where she could be sent to learn the basics?

Mrs. Lady, there used to be some decent "finishing" schools in Europe: Dachau in southern Germany, Buchenwald in central Germany, Gross-Rosen in eastern Germany, Natzweiler-Struthof in eastern France, Ravensbrueck near Berlin, Auschwitz in Poland, and of course Stutthof on the Baltic coast. The lesser races also innovated in this sphere - Cambodia, Uganda, North Korea.

A young woman like Greta can find ample opportunity for personal betterment under such formal training. I often wonder how different things might be if Germany had defeated the United States in WW2 and installed a Christo-fascist master race as the centerpiece of a global nuclear theocracy. Those are loaded terms nowadays, but I like to think we would still receive the huddled masses and represent a melting pot of sorts.
