At Least ONE Negro Understands: It’s GOOD To Be A Slave!


While everyone knows I am not a fan of the rap music (I prefer a good old marching band) when a friend of one of my children sent them a link to a rap song and I intercepted it, I decided to watch it. It turns out that at least one of the coloreds gets it. It is GOOD to be a slave! Here is the song:

I checked online and found that other Christians agree that the meaning of Christianity is to be a SLAVE. Take, for example, this review from a colored fella on Amazon:

Just open your ears and know Christ is the King. This song explains the reality that we are slaves to work for HIM and I would be HIS slave forever. AMEN!

If it helps to have the colored races place the relationship in the light of Slave and Master because it is easier for them to understand, I say, "More power to them!" It makes sense that since they have been cursed their whole lives and their families have been slaves forever that they would view Christ Jesus as "tha Massa" and that they be "tha boy." Perhaps we should teach this in our Ex-Negro classes? We could tell them that by loving Jesus and doing what he says, they can be a house slave (Heaven) instead of a field slave (Hell)?

For reference to the Ex-Negro teachers, here are the lyrics as best I can make out. If anyone has any corrections please let me know. It is hard to make out ebonics. My commentary is in red.

Anyone who read the BIBLE did. But then, illiteracy rates among the negros is extremely low. Perhaps the song form is better for them? They have always been a musical people.

This is so true, Sister. We really are blessed to be able to just serve our menfolk and let them make all the hard decisions.

I assume you didn't read what i had wrote, as it is not the word of the bible. I know i can't convince you out of your fanatical state of mind. But no, i am not wrong. If you don't believe in the Bible why do you believe in God and Jesus?
God promised to keep His Words:

Psalm 12:6-7:

So if you don't believe the Bible is the inerrant Word of God what do you believe?

2.) That God isn't powerful enough to change the Bible so that it portrays what He actually thinks

3.) That God neither know what the Bible says nor has the power to change it

I am not athiest, nor am i a darwinist, or ognostic, but i shall tell you, that just because it is the so called "word of the lord" doesn't mean it is. I can write a book and say it's the word of the lord, that doesn't mean it is. God does exist. But he doesn't think like you people suppose he does, also, you have misinterpreted passages from the bible. Your just corrupt. Seems the Christian establishment is picking up on my reasoning. In an extensive interview, a Christian theologist explains why fuzzy bunny Christians have been trying to change the concept of being slaves to God. Here is an excerpt:

[A book I read discusses the] word doulos which is the word in Greek for slave; every Greek dictionary will tell you it means slave, it doesn’t mean servant, it doesn’t describe a function; it always and only means slave. And yet it just wasn’t translated that way in any English version (of the Bible) so Harris was dealing with that issue.

I followed that up by trying to find some other studies on that, other information and I wound up looking at a journal article by a scholar from back in the 1960s in which he pointed out why the translators back in the 16th century didn’t translate the word slave. And he pointed out the fact that even back then there was so much stigma around slavery that they didn’t want to use that word. And so they started a trend and every other English translation up until today followed that trend. They will use the word slave if it refers to a physical slave, an actual slave or an inanimate slave like slave of sin or slave of righteousness. But whenever it refers to a believer, they wouldn’t translate it slave. So this just kept going and going.

Once I began to realize this I thought how have I missed this for so long? I guess it’s just that I never was prodded into it and once I did it just became apparent that because we don’t have the word slave, we therefore really don’t understand the paradigm that defines us as Christian.

Hello im am new to this website, I stumbled across your religion quite by mistake and planed to leave. However in curiosity I decided to have a look at the forum to see what beliefs you as a community held. I would like to inform you all that i am disgusted by your interpretation of what is meant to be a holy and loving religion. Now i can not say for certain that all followers of this creed fit into this message and you may be simply loving followers of god, this aside those of you who post filth such as wishes of death for children simply because of the way they were born and other such messages of hate are evil people to your core.

Now on the subject of the song that heads this thread: This really does not have anything to do with slavery in the way you want to believe that it is. The man does not mean that he wishes to be a slave nor does he endorse slavery based on race. The message behind this song is that this man has found peace and freedom through his own personal servitude to god and his acceptance of jesus as his savior. Its that bloody simple people its got nothing to do with him wanting to be a slave!
