Yes, a Bible Problem. Why is God Lying in Genesis Chapter 8? -
12-20-2016, 03:54 AM
Yes, it is Harsha Shah here. I am very sorry that I have not been very active lately. I am dating and very busy at work. I am still teaching RME that is religious and moral education and with the 1st class students we were discussing Noah. God is first drowning everyone and then he is making a promise. Yes. It is in Genesis Chapter 8 verse 21. "And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.". Yes. I was showing the promise with the bold lettering.
Yes, in your new testament your god is promising that he will come again and kill everyone. It is in the book of Revelation Chapter 16. "And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a deadman: and every living soul died in the sea." Everything is being killed. Yes. And later Jesus will be killing all men, too. It is also in the book of the revelations Chapter 19. "And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh." Yes.
The children are not very happy about this and many of them are saying that they will not be going to church anymore. Most of them have not been going anyway so it is not going to be a big change. Yes. It is clear that your God was lying when he was speaking in Genesis Chapter 8 but why? Is it karma? Yes. I am very sorry if I am offending you. Yes.
"Ecclesiastes 3:7
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak."Yes. Women are saving lives. It is time we are speaking! Yes!

There are no lies. In Genesis 8:21 God says that He is not going to smite EVERY living thing anymore. He does not say that He will not smite ANY living thing. God continued to smite lots of living things, He just did did not eradicate everything at the one time, like The Flood did (save for Noah, his family and the creatures on the Ark).
The Bible NEVER lies.
Phil
58 If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD; 59 Then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance. 60 Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee. 61 Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring k upon thee, until thou be destroyed.

Yes, Mr. Ander. It is Harsha Shah here again. I am sorry if I am offending you but I am failing to understand your kind reply completely. Yes. In the verses I cited your god is talking about the future and he is causing " every living soul to die in the sea." and "the remnant" to be slain. Yes, I am thinking that if the remaining people are killed then there is no-one left. I have also been reading the your god is destroying the whole earth, so I am thinking that everything will die as a result. Yes. I am very sorry if I am offending you, but any clarification would be welcome. Yes.

No offense taken Harsha. I would truly like you to join me in God's Kingdom come The Time. The odds may be against it, but I will pray for you. I think you have a good heart, but God requires more than that for Salvation.
I appreciate that American is probably not your first language, so the nuances may pass you by. There is a profound difference between THING and SOUL. God only gave Souls to Adams descendants, ie humankind. Extinguishing all SOULS is entirely different to extinguishing all THINGS. For example the horses need to survive so all the slaying described in Revelations can be done.

Harsha,
It would be remiss of me not to mention my approval of your dating, and your busy times in this regard.
Dates are a very biblical fruit Psalms 1:3 I am in admiration of your attempt to grow them in Scotland.

Harsha--I think you are reading the Bible but not noticing the big picture. Violence is big in the Bible. There were bad people that needed to be taken out. That's what Noah's flood did.
When children start asking why the Bible says this here but something else over there you need to take a ruler and give them a slap. There is no reason they have the right to ask questions about the Word of God.
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.
