Probable Fake News Attempts to Attack Baptists -
02-12-2019, 04:32 PM
THIS LINK
...describes another media attempt to discredit and bring shame upon the very face of Christianity - the Baptist - in times where fake news is making it hard to know what's real and what isn't. That is, unless you are a True Christian™. The devil doesn't know everything; one thing he doesn't seem to know is that Baptists have a direct line to Heaven through our own impeccable pastor, Ezekiel Flint.
You see, when satan tries to bring a bad name to God's Church, he seems to miss the fact that we aren't easily taken down. Centuries of faithful service to the world have shown that Christ's people are strong, resolved, and ready for battle.
Despite these rumors, I defy anyone to find fault with LBC or its pastors. In fact, I took the liberty of writing to the author of this article and told him he was MORE than welcome to investigate each and every one of us (except me, because I'm busy that day) and that we would bet the ownership of the church property and Zeke's humble home that they would not find a SINGLE THING out of line here. Praise God! I know the pastors will appreciate this gesture of faith.
Proverbs 21:31 KJV 1611:
“The horse is prepared against the day of battell: but safetie is of the Lord.”
Lord, may I serve my equine brothers and sisters just as I do my fellow man. Amen and Amen

Thank you for bringing this story to our attention, Brother Larry. There are so many questions about this whole thing, I don't even know where to begin!
Here is the original article which first opened this can of worms:
Quote:
...more than 250 people who worked or volunteered in Southern Baptist churches have been charged with sex crimes, an investigation by the Houston Chronicle and the San Antonio Express-News reveals. It's not just a recent problem: In all, since 1998, roughly 380 Southern Baptist church leaders and volunteers have faced allegations of sexual misconduct, the newspapers found. That includes those who were convicted, credibly accused and successfully sued, and those who confessed or resigned. More of them worked in Texas than in any other state.
They left behind more than 700 victims, many of them shunned by their churches, left to themselves to rebuild their lives. Some were urged to forgive their abusers or to get abortions.
|
There are so many questions about this story! Are all alleged "victims" of the female sex? I hope so, because homosexual acts are an abomination in the eyes of the Lord (Leviticus 18:22, 20:13). How many of the 380 Southern Baptist church leaders and volunteers ended up marrying their alleged "victims," and did they pay their parents as required by God (Deuteronomy 22:28-29)? Why were some of the alleged "victims" asked to perform abortions - were they godless heathens who deserved to have their bellies ripped open (Hosea 13:16)?
Also, some people may be inclined to find parallels between what the Catholic church did and this:
Quote:
At least 35 church pastors, employees and volunteers who exhibited predatory behavior were still able to find jobs at churches during the past two decades. In some cases, church leaders apparently failed to alert law enforcement about complaints or to warn other congregations about allegations of misconduct.
|
While this may seem parallel to an untrained eye, that is not true! While the Catholic church has been actively helping sexual predators, the Baptist church leaders were simply doing their job by forgiving their prodigal sons. That is exactly what Jesus would do.

Even though the SBC is a wishy-washy liberal organisation, it's very wrong of the Pope to encourage this sort of smear campaign against them. Look at this:
Quote:
...more than 250 people who worked or volunteered in Southern Baptist churches have been charged with sex crimes
|
Now, what's that as a percentage of all the people who work or volunteer there? Weekly attendance at SBC churches is around 5.2 million. Even if only 1 in 100 of the regular congregation volunteers in some way (and that would be very poor indeed!), that would be 52,000 people. Then they have about 47,500 churches - say 3 people per church work there, full time, that's another 142,500 people. Total: 194,500. Number of bad apples: 250 ( or 380 if you believe CNN, which has started plucking numbers out of its rectum).
250 would be around one eighth of a percent. 380 would be around one fifth of a percent. Shocking indeed, but compare and contrast the latest figures from the Vatican, where 4 in 5 of the priests are gay!
Catholics disgust me.

The real scandal here is the way the alleged victims behaved. Why would they not just suffer injury rather than injure the reputation of God's church?
1 Cor 6:6-7
6 But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.
7 Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?
I hope those who demonstrated genuine repentance by confessing and resigning were forgiven. For these men the statute of limitations expired in 33 A.D.
Mt 18:32-35
32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.
Let's not forget who the real victims are here -- the pastors and elders who have been accused.
1 Tim 5:19
Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.
I doubt very much that there were three witnesses to every alleged incident.
| Mt 21:42, 44 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes . . . ? And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Thank you for focusing the real issue: Where, exactly, is the sin here? Yes, there was sin but simply blaming it all on Baptist men is just not right. Taking the Biblical perspective, Eve persuaded Adam to commit the original sin. From that knowledge we can be quite certain where much of this sin came from.
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

Right you are Mayor, this propaganda campaign comes directly out of the Vatican in collusion with the MSM to take the heat off of the "new" pope. Just take a look at what the Hellywood and the "entertainment" elites are doing to promote the Vatican and "pope" fashion - doing Satan's bidding to promote lust, sin, and add more kindling to the Lake of Fire.
Hell's foundations quiver at the shout of praise;
brothers, lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.

That would look better with a pop of color. Maybe a belt?
