This is Landover Baptist Church where we acknowledge Jesus as The Lord and Savior taught in The Holy Bible.
Mary-Land is not a name that we answer to.
His left hand should be under my head, and his right hand should embrace me.

Dear, perhaps if you were to slow down a bit when you are typewriting your messages to us, it might help you to notice (and to correct) any errors along the way.

Hello Mr. Sampaio and welcome to our friendly forums! Tell us something about yourself, such as how many children you've blessed your wife with! Does she homeschool them all? I love to talk homeschooling but surely you'll want to chat about hunting with the men when they get here. Anyway, tell us how you came to know Jesus in this Dark and Evil world!
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Oh how wonderful! You must have a lovely mother who loves Jesus very much!
I do love to hear stories about how people witness to the sinners, and I hope you tell yours. For example, do you carry a stoning bucket with you to help you rebuke them? My children are very proud the day they get to carry their first stoning bucket. It's an important day in a young Christian's life.

Dave, there is no need to rush to Eternal Damnation. Spelling and grammar count and are in your permanent record. Gods notices EVERYTHING.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Hello. I think you are laboring under a misapprehension. Our church is not named after (or located in) Landover, Maryland. Landover, Maryland was named after our Church.

Hello, welcome to the forum. When I started reading The Bible I thought that some pages seemed different from some other pages. Why should we avoid certain foods on one page but be allowed to eat anything on another page? Here you can compare Leviticus chapter 11 with I Corinthians chapter 10.
What was important to God would not always occur to us under our own steam, as they say. After all, if we could work things out for ourselves why would God need to explain things? Choices have outcomes and He so much wanted for us to make the right choices and knew what we should avoid. Avoid like the plague. More than the plague. Because sin is worse than any plague; God told us what He wanted us to be or not to be.

Not so long before, when water was in short supply, The Israelites were complaining (as usual) and doubted God. People with preconceptions often do that. But water was in fact available, not from a reservoir or a pump but from God.
EXODUS 17:6 [God speaking] I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.
That does NOT mean that every time water is required a rock should be smitten WHACK! and water will come out of the rock. At that time and in that place, God explained what to do and water was provided. Later on, there was another problem. Since this is in a wilderness where nobody lives because they either die of thirst of go and live somewhere else, water is not generally available. Again those wretched Israelites started complaining, perhaps running on the preconception that since we're in a desert we're all going to die. God isn't interested in preconceptions though and, once again, provided water. But not in the same way as before.
NUMBERS 20:7-8 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.
The Bible is not contradicting itself, about how to get water from rocks in a desert BECAUSE they were two different rocks in two different places. When I'm thirsty NOW water is provided in a different way. When I'm hungry NOW, what I eat is no more determined by God's commandment for food in the wilderness than what I drink id determined by His commandment about rocks! The reasons why are explained in The New Testament; perhaps if replying you could find that passage (in Acts chapters 10 & 11) as a Bible verse contributing to your intro.

Do not be:
• abominable
• unclean
• defiled
Be:
• sanctified
• holy
Today, for example, I'm having pease pudding with smoked bacon hocks. I'll make some bread and cut up some lettuce and slice the meat (hocks) (I've already done this) together with pickled beetroot and cabbage, it's quite delicious but not something endorsed by God in The Wilderness years. Why? I don't know. God knows though, and God is Jesus. He explained that what one eats is less important than what one does:
MARK 7:15-19 [with context] For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness Jesus taught us how to think, how to understand abomination, uncleanness and defilement properly. Back then false teachers were everywhere, telling people what to think rather than how to think. They'd prefer to see everyone indoctrinated with their own ridiculous ideas and when Jesus pointed this out, they murdered Him. Murder is one of the things proceeding from within. Murderers are neither sanctified nor holy.
Indoctrination can be very persistent. Poor brainwashed fools just cannot let go of those lies, taught to them by false teachers, exactly as in Jesus' day. Later on, after He ascended into Heaven, there was a ministry to the Romans. One centurion named Cornelius received a vision from God telling him that He had a message for him. Cornelius had to send for Simon Peter to receive this message. He did so and Simon Peter was able to give him the message and share a meal, regardless of what was served. Whether it was pease pudding with smoked bacon hocks I have no idea.
ACTS 10:9b-16 Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour: and he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance, and saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth: wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.
Despite clear explanations about how to think, there were still people obsessing over long resolved issues. Some of them turn up in Chapter 11.

How do you think we can set about answering that type of question?
SOME MORE EXAMPLES
1. Is the pope Italian?
2. Is pease pudding made from lentils?
3. Are convulsions caused by demons?
4. Does heavy metal promote Church burning?
5(i) Is Stockhausen music?
5(ii) Did Stockhausen inspire any Beatles material?

What escapes me is the lack of geographical knowledge people have.
They think the world s shaped like a ball.
They think the Earth revolves around the sun.
They think Landover is a town.
For the ignorant, Landover Baptist Church is located outside Des Moines in Freehold.
