My Introduction -
05-26-2021, 06:23 AM
Greetings everyone,
A little in the way of an introduction....My name is Jonathan Wright and I am from the Knoxville Tennessee area. My home church is First Baptist Church of Knoxville. My salvation experience came in 1989 at a revival put on by the late Jack Hyles.
One of my favorite verses is Hebrews 10:25
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
I have found this verse to be inspirational to me because in this day in which so many are depending on "Online Services" each Sunday, So many are cheating God not only out of their worship, but, their tithing. I believe this virus should be NO excuse to not attend Church. Thank God for Churches like this who are THE single greatest example of what a Church needs to be! Thank God for LBC!
Blessings,
Jonathan Wright

You do seem like a polite young man, and have fulfilled the Introduction requirements, unlike 90% of the rapscallions who make their way here. Welcome aboard. We look forward learning about how many sons you have, your favorite NASCAR driver, and your gun collection. And more about your Relationship with Jesus.
Phil
58 If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD; 59 Then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance. 60 Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee. 61 Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring k upon thee, until thou be destroyed.

Hi Glad to see a new face in the service of The Lord. Hebrews is a very reassuring book with many important points helping us to understand.
Salvation is only available through Jesus.

Thank you both for your kind welcome. To make a long story short, I have been married for just over a year now and we got 2 sons on the way. With that being said, I feel this is the right time to ask for some advice from those who Home School their kids, who would you recommend for a good sound KJV1611 based cirriculum?
Our favorite NASCAR driver is Jimmie Johnson. As for the gun collections, I have everything from 9mm to AR-15s. My all time favorite is the M-4 because of the accuracy and it will scare any sinner who chooses to trespass on my property.
As for our relationship with Jesus, we take it very seriously as I make sure we pray each and every day and night without fail. The Bible we use the KJV 1611 Bible and like you, we believe it from cover to cover. We attend Church on a weekly basis (2x sunday and Wednesday night). Hopefully this answered your question properly.
Blessings,
Jonathan Wright

Welcome, Mr. Write, to God's favorite forum! I'm sure the men will want to know all about your big game hunting adventures and whether or not you've ever caught a witch, but I'm of the more gentle, domestic stock. I think a lot can be known about a man by the way he treats his lessers. So tell us, how do you like to rebuke the sinners back there in Tennessee?
Edited to add,
you can find wonderful supplements to homeschooling right here! Landover Baptist Church has a vibrant homeschool community, and we share our discoveries all the time. You can check out and contribute to any one of our ongoing threads:
The Christian Homeschooling Guide to GEOGRAPHY
True Christian Homeschooling Guide to Civics!
The Christian Homeschooling Guide to HISTORY!
In the Eltheldrada home, the children rise early in the morning and get dressed (button down shirts for the boys, skirts or dresses only for the girls), clean, read the Holy Bible, say the Pledge of Allegiance, then sit down for breakfast (after a lengthy, genuinely felt grace - to be repeated if it doesn't sound sincere). After morning chores, the children sit down to do copy work. They copy from the KJV Bible from the where they left off the day before, and write in their finest penmanship until lunch time. This serves a number of educational goals - penmanship, history, science, literature, geography, comparative religions and theology. After lunch the children study math for God's Glory. I'm happy to talk about the wonderful joys of homeschooling! After all, we are raising our children to get into Heaven, not Harvard. What could be more important that shaping their critical thinking skills while they are young and impressionable?
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Thank you ladies for your welcome and Mary, you are so correct when you say that we are training our kids to get into heaven and not harvard. It is so sad that the "colleges" are such dens of sin. Is it no wonder the kids of today have turned out the way they have?
I believe 2 Timothy 2:15 says it best:
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth
Blessings,
Jonathan Wright

Indeed, dear - and to our forum!
As God teaches us, reading too many books is bad for our physical and spiritual health:
Ecclesiastes 12:12-13
12 And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

Two sons on the way, huh? The Bible tells us that one of them will be virtuous and the other is destined to be wicked. I hope you're prepared to deal with the bad one properly from the get-go and avoid all the problems of Cain not to mention Ham and Canaan's curse.

Dr Toole,
Appreciate the heads up. That bad one will be dealt with accordingly should he misbehave and you can be assured that there will be no times outs, no first/second/third warnings. He WILL be severely disciplined.
Blessings,
Jonathan Wright

How do you do, Mr. Wright.
Perhaps I missed it but how many sons has God had your wife express from her womb, did they all survive?
For the ones that God chose to kill, what did you do with the mess? I put ours in jars and keep them on the mantle as a lesson to any of my daughters to remind them not be sluts.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Brother Dr. Toole, Sir, speaking as the mother of three sets of male twins I have often worried about this. But although Cain was certainly a thoroughly bad lot, Genesis 4:1-2 does seem vague on the question of his and Abel's twindom.
And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord. And she again bare his brother Abel.
As you are aware, there is no mention of the interval between their births, which may have been anything from 2 minutes to - well, several years, I suppose, depending on Adam's potency and manly needs?
I have found that my twins are pretty much equally sinful. They vary from day to day, although obviously they do tend to encourage each other to transgress. But this is mainly done out of simple fraternal jealousy and the malice is merely competitive, which is easily forgiven.
I do hope this will help Mrs Wright.

Sister, thank you for raising these practical issues which I am sure Mr. Wright would do well to read aloud to Mrs. Wright until she starts to get it. To me, the question is a simple case of Pascal's Wager. If you can't tell the good one and the bad one apart, then treat them both as the bad one. Then the true bad one will be punished as he should and the true good one, well what has he lost? Some pleasures, a few luxuries, nothing. Both stand to receive infinite gains.

Wise words, Doctor. I treat all my boys equally, on the basis that if a little neglect does no harm, more will do even less than none. So far it seems to be working.

Mr. Hutchins,
We got two on the way. I like your idea, I'll be keeping that thought in my head for future reference.

It's a universal truth Sister. Like I tell my patients: a teaspoon of medicine cures whereas a tablespoon of medicine costs real money. They always go with the more expensive option.
