I am a New Christian!

I am in the process, of becoming a Christian. I am finding Jesus. I have been to several different churches and been visiting Christian websites and forums on the Internet. I have noticed that Christians believe many different things among themselves. I myself are not completely clear just as to how I believe on certain scriptures pertaining to the Bible. I have come here to discuss with you the way you believe and why you believe the way you do. I want to compare your belief of the scriptures and the Bible, to the other Christian denominations. Then I can decide for myself which way I ought to believe.

At Landover, we follow the Bible to the letter - every word of it. We don't skip the bits we don't like. We acknowledge God as not only a God of love, but a God of hate and jealousy. Because that's what the Bible tell us. We believe that the only way to Salvation is by obeying the Word of the Lord, as it is in the Bible; not interpreting it to what we might like it to be. Matthew 5 is one of my favorite chapters because that's where Jesus explicitly says that all of the rules of the Old Testament are still in full effect:

(Matthew 5:17-18) "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."

GLORY!!!!!



Lots of folks think The Sermon on the Mount lets a lot of sinners off the hook: nope! You can be the meekest, most merciful and pure of heart queer on Earth and you'll still burn for eternity.

We are True Christians™. Very simple people. We follow what is written in the KJV Bible. We do not express an opinion. We do not try to imagine that God 'really means...' We do not think we can 'skip the parts we do not like'. We do not deviate.

So if you read the Bible and do exactly as it states, that is what a Christian is. The Bible tells us so.

Dear friend, I welcome you in Christ's abundant love. Christ has given us His standard for distinguishing genuinely saved Christians from liberal false Christians who only think they are saved:

[Matthew 7:21-23 KJV] 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

That is, "Christians" who don't do the will of the Father in Heaven are unsaved. The will of the Father, of course, is set forth in the Bible — all of it, not just a few feel-good verses.

Christ has also given us a way to tell the difference:

[Matthew 7:15-20 KJV] 15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither [can] a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Note: Christ said that good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, not that a good tree only sometimes brings forth evil fruit because that's just going to happen in human institutions. Therefore, any "church" that brings forth any evil fruit (e.g., Catholicism or one of those megachurches that have pastoral sex scandals) is not of God.

"Work out your own salvation" = you decide if you want salvation. Jesus cannot force you to do anything. You have an independent will, and it's up to you to choose the right path. Choose the right path with "fear and trembling" because if you choose the wrong one, you will not achieve salvation. It does not mean, do whatever you want (provided you believe) to achieve salvation. Even if it did, there are far too many other verses in the bible which contradict that notion.

It appears as though you want to judge us and compare us to other Christians sects. Well by looking through our threads, you will get an idea of our beliefs and lifestyle. Our beliefs rely on one thing and one thing only, the Bible. We aren't those "Christians" that skim through the Bible and pluck the things they like. We never disagree with the Bible. My thoughtful wife, Jennifer, told me to tell you something about the Bible. You don't have to sit and wonder what to believe. Every scripture means what it says and says what it means. Our Lord tells us that His Word is good for teaching. This means there is really no interpretation needed. It is His Word and that should settle it for you. Needless comparisons with other groups will do one thing and one thing only: It will make you so confused that you will be in the hands of the devil.

You see, that is what satan wants. He doesn't want you to take the Holy Bible literally - he wants you to weigh everything in the balance and then choose what seems the easiest for him. The devil is a savage lion, but praise God, Robert, Jesus has already won. When our Lord was transfigured (this is nothing like transgendered, don't get confused), He won the battle for our souls; when He returns to earth and stands on the Mount of Olives, satan gonna be like, "Whoa, Jesus. Why you be tearin up my mountain and shit." And the Lord is gonna drop kick him and then He's gonna give each of us that believed in Him a big hug and show us to our mansions, tell us to get washed up, and then He'll have Elvis and Frank Sinatra do a welcome concert for us. Or maybe Barbra Streisand. Ha Ha Ha. (Won't happen, since Babs will be serenading satan and the gaywise)

Why Doc, you certainly are a wordsmith. I feel like if I were to close my eyes, I could just about see that surprised, stupid look on Satan's face.
