as True Christians™ and American Patriots, we must all be aware of the ultimate evil in America - TAXES!

Taxes were the foundation of this nation - GETTING AWAY FROM THEM THAT IS! The American Revolution was founded because of outrageous taxes being sent to the King of England. And somewhere, things went very wrong in America - now the ridiculous system has become embedded in our government!

Friends, "taxes" are just another word for stealing. It is the government STEALING our hard-earned money! We cannot tolerate this! The only institution to whom we owe a percentage of our income is the church, and believe me, churches do us a LOT more services than the government, and they are significantly more expensive to run!

Back in the good old days, if a taxman got uppity, we could simply lynch him and leave him outside the community as a warning. Nowadays, however, the government goons would probably arrest you for murder if you tried that

The solution is simple - eliminate ALL taxes. Absolutely NO money should be given to the government. You will see in no time America will return to be the great nation it once was.

Of course, there are perhaps some drawbacks to this. Some things which are taxes fund we may still want. Obviously, we all want big money going towards national defense, to protect our freedoms from foreign devils. Services like the mail system, public libraries, free roads, etc. help make all of our lives more convenient. Money towards public education is a plus (as long as the schools aren't teaching evolution). And of course, if we get laid off it would be nice to get unemployment insurance while we look for new jobs. But taxes are NOT the solution!

I think it would be much simpler if we all pooled together our money to pay for these things. Of course, not everyone would want to contribute, so we'd have to find some way of making it mandatory for it to work. So things would stay fair, I guess people with higher incomes would pay a higher percentage towards the pool.

We would need people to oversee this process, a sort of service for taking care of the revenues. And since the average person doesn't have the time or knowledge to make sure the money is spent correctly, I guess we could hire people to overlook this stuff for us. To make sure everyone is represented, we could all vote to decide who handles these political concerns, with regular elections to keep the system running.

It's the perfect system, and we don't need the government involved at all! Best of all, none of the money would be going towards funding abortions, or taking care of single mothers who can't seem to stop having babies.

With only one minor exception, I whole-heartedly would support it.

The exception would be that it wouldn't be necessary to create a servicing agency to process the funds. The Landover Tithing Committee is already in place and with the hiring of a few more True Christians™ we'd be ready on Day One.

I propose a four step plan:

1. Ship all those slants back where they came from. And they would be taking their swine and bird flu with them.

2. All those unhealthy injuns you have running around could be confined to their reservations where they get treated by their Medicine Men.

3. Being knew deep in those middle easterners, send their medical bills to OPEC and let them pay for it with all that oil money they have.

4. All them frenchies you got laying around should be covered by the socialist system they have over in their native snail and truffle-eating country.

Left unmentioned, of course, are the darkies. But that shouldn't be a problem since you don't have many. Their a-freaken heritage tends to keep them away from anyplace that has winter eleven months and three weeks a year.

What would be left are the hard-working white people who's wholesome life style keeps them upright and healthy.

I live in Quebec... Catholic central .
They won't stop talking about their darned "Seperation". Every few years they try to pass a referendum to have Quebec seperate from Canada. The thought of being in a French Catholic country? Unthinkable! Regardless, I'm looking for places to live the the Great US of A.

I see a few problems:
(i) Landover receives generous government funding for various projects, this requires a certain amount to taxation.
(ii) Taxation is often seen as a disincentive to wealth. I therefore propose all taxation should be inflicted on those earning less than $40,000, after that the whole income, including the first $40,000, is tax-free. This will encourage people to become rich.

lol @ Basher's solution. Everyone pool their money together, have an agency keep track of it all and make it mandatory! Those are called taxes!!! It's money you pay to keep certain programs going, like our national defense. By the way, this nation wasn't founded on the idea of getting away from taxes, it was founded on religious freedom, and no taxation without representation. They supported taxes on things that deserved to be taxed and everyone supported.

So what you want is a confederacy? A loosely associated group of states operating under a single weak Federal government? This has been tried many times but has failed. The Confederate States of America, Russia after the Soviet Union collapse, America after the revolution...etc.

Well, I think that the US government has lots of unexplored options for revenue raising. For example, we can sell off the national parks to real estate speculators. And the national forests can be sold to logging companies. The Chinese might be interested in buying our trees, especially now that they're whining about how they got rooked by purchasing worthless deriviatives (hey, tough luck, Chinks, you should've read the fine print!).

But really, the solution to this whole problem is simple - the USA can simply borrow all the money it needs! As the great Dick Cheney once said, Reagan proved deficits don't matter.

This is one of the wisest political essays I ´ve read so far (which is might be easy, as I was often forced to read liberal "philosophy" so far).

From a political point of view, there are three kinds of problems with three kinds of solutions:

1. Problems that can be solved by massive military effort! (Like the rise of Islamofascism, the War on Terror and clash of civilisations)

2. Problems that can be solved by prayer! [Like the growing gang violence, the War on Drugs, the growth of civil right movements, pollution (if it would exist, hah)]

3. Problems that can be solved by tax reduction! (like the "war on poverty")

As you can see, this is a three-folded political analysis and thus approved by THE LORD ALMIGHTY, who is the FATHER, the SON and the HOLY SPIRIT.
