As well they should!
For anyone not aware, the NHL is the National Hockey League. Now, Ice hockey may not be the most Americanish of sports activities, but there is plenty of conflicts, scuffles and blood involved. Therefore, it only makes sense to allow True American™ Men to enjoy this game.
And so, it is very reassuring that the
NHL has declared a firm "No!" to the use of sissy rainbow tape applied to manly sports gear. This is the kind of firm, straight leadership needed to keep sports safe from the Gay Menace.
However, there is one problem. In their efforts to ban Gay Tape, they have also barred hockey players from using any decorations that Support Our Troops. This is an awful decision and an affront to Freedom of Speech.
The NHL sent a memo to teams last week clarifying what players can and cannot do as part of theme celebrations this season, including a ban on the use of rainbow-colored stick tape for the Pride nights that have become a hot-button issue in hockey.
The updated guidance reaffirms on-ice player uniforms and gear for games, warmups and official team practices cannot be altered to reflect theme nights, including Pride, Hockey Fights Cancer or military appreciation celebrations.
How can the NHL leadership make one good and godly decision and then hitch it to the same wagon as one sad and sinful decision? Please, someone explain this.
