I thought the whole point of mobile homes was to live life on the open road having adventures and writing
The Great American novel. Jack Kerouac springs to mind.
Kerouac's wiki page states "He often experienced episodes of heavy drinking" which is consistent with the mobile home lifestyle. He engaged in unmarried s*x and had a spotty work history, again, consistent with life in a trailer park, and was critical of Communism and probably voted Republican (because of the Freedom™ thing). When problems came along he simply moved on, then died young(-ish, aged 47) to avoid burdening the rest of us with social security.
I don't know why so-called "residents" of Iowa rocking the trailer park dream don't just move to Florida, like their hero, and die.
