African This Day in History: January 18th - 01-19-2019, 03:05 AM

1778 - James Cook discovers the Hawaiian Islands. There are already a bunch of savages there, but they don't count. He calls them the Sandwich Islands, I presume in honor of his favorite food. If he'd given them a name that honored Jesus instead, maybe the name wouldn't have reverted back to what the savages called it.

1862 - John Tyler dies. This obscure man was allegedly the 10th President of the United States, though no other American I've asked has ever heard of him. He was a Congressman-elect for the state of Virginia in the Confederate Congress when he died, so it is likely that he is now in Heaven

1871 - King Wilhelm I of Prussia is crowned Kaiser of the German Empire in the captured French palace of Versailles towards the end of the Franco-Prussian War. This kicks off the Second Reich, which will only be surpassed in grandeur and majesty by the Third.

1936 - Rudyard Kipling, the British novelist, poet, and imperialist, dies. He coined the phrase "The white man's burden," which perfectly describes the colored races and our relationship with them. Burn all the books on race relations, colonization, and civil rights. The picture above tells us all there is to know.

1990 - Demonstrating yet again the negro's unfitness for positions of authority and responsibility, Washington, D.C. Mayor Marion Barry is arrested for drug possession in an FBI sting. Regarding the incident, the distinguished negro gentleman and prominent Democratic politician remarked, "Bitch set me up [...] Goddamn bitch."

1993 - Martin Luther King Day observed in all 50 states. John 11:35.
