Back again after so long -

Hello people of Landover Baptist Church.
It's been a good long 10 years since I walked through these forums and lots has changed in that time. So I'll explain myself so I don't have to later.
10 years ago I was heavily involved in the goth scene and was an insufferable know-it-all . I just had to defend myself and everything I said. Anyhow, as I grew and matured in my faith I found it increasingly difficult to justify the goth label and moved on. Sure, I still like my creepy and spooky stuff but I suppose that too is beginning to take a backseat.
These days I mostly bake and decorate cakes as well as write short stories. Exploring new foods to make and
I'm not here to argue, I'm not here to tell you you're wrong nor to justify my current failings. I'm simply curious as to your thoughts on some topics.
1. What's your thoughts on the different rapture theories?
2. What are some good bible study methods?
3. What music artists and bands do you beleive are biblically accurate?

put their trust in him. Proverbs 30:5

Welcome back, Lady Goth. It was good to learn your sinful path has "taken a back seat." Here at Landover, we still require condemnation of goth. Feel free to tell of your complete conversion from that sin and of finding Jesus.
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

Hi LadyRaven,
Nice to meet you. And nice to know you appreciate making food, it is something I like to do too. I might like the pasta a bit too much but that is nothing a bit of minor workout can not solve. I cannot answer your questions though. I am sure my answers would lack the biblical foundation you are asking for.
Kind regards, Roland
Jeremiah 6:21 Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will lay stumblingblocks before this people, and the fathers and the sons together shall fall upon them; the neighbour and his friend shall perish.
Best wishes for the people in Ukraine.

It was more of a lengthy transition really. The thing is that to be part of a subculture you must have parts of what that subculture is.
The goth subculture is based around the music and to be a part of it you must listen to the music. I was losing interest in that part and I was favouring more Christian music and instrumental music.
Goth began to feel constricting and I felt I couldn't grow in my faith and keep the lable at the same time. So I let it go and moved on.
However, goth was a huge part of my identity so there are still some aspects of it that linger.
I'm not as close to Jesus as I'd like to be but I'm working on that.

Greetings and welcome to our forum. I always wondered, if you play goth music backwards, does it sound any better?

Pick up a KJV 1611 Bible, start with Genesis 1 and keep reading until the pages run out.

And that, ultimately, will always be its downfall. There comes a point in every Godless child's life when they realize that enough droning self-obsession is very definitely enough, or even more than enough. (And the hair and make-up thing is just so absurd that I've always found it difficult to keep a straight face while condemning it.)

And, good afternoon to you, dear Miss Raven. I don't believe we've had the pleasure of becoming acquainted, but I must say: I am happy that you are on the right path to turning your wayward life around!
Now, I must admit that I am not as familiar with this "goth" business, as some of our other people might be; but, does being a goth involve some sort of dark, Satanic connection, such as is enjoyed by the wicked woman in this photo?

Are you dying from the aids? Most that repent later in life only do so because they see the horrible mistake they made mocking God all those years and are begging for His Divine Forgiveness© before they are tossed into Hell to have their fleshed ripped apart by the Devils gnashing teeth while suffering repeated rapes by Satan's minions. God is no dummy though, He sees right through your little scheme.
But I will pray for you as it is the True Christian™ thing to do.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Hello, Lady Raven, and welcome back! We have been praying for you, and obviously the Holy Ghost has been working its wonders in your life. Keep up the great work and you'll be saved soon!
I'll help with number 2. Read the Bible (King James 1611 version) every day. Read the whole Bible cover to cover, not just the parts that the liberal Christians read in Sunday school. When you read the Bible, cross check it when it tells the same story twice (e.g. Genesis 1 and Genesis 2) so you can see yourself that there are no inaccuracies. Concentrate on the passages where you disagree with or dislike things God says and does and ask yourself, who is right, me or the Lord?
Most importantly, whatever you do, don't read the Skeptic's Annotated Bible. That's a tool of the Devil run by atheists who use the words of the Bible to make the Good Book seem to be filled with contradictions, injustice, genocide, immorality, violence, and absurdities. They do, however, do an excellent job showing how absurd the Quran and the Book of Mormon are.

We are going to be Raptured®. In your present state, you won't. This is because we remain in Christ.
1 Thessalonians 4:17
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Regarding your sorry sinful state, it can be overturned with Repenting and childbearing. However, I do have a question for you. Based on your title, you're of the Gothic heritage. I'd like to inquire about the Gothic Bible. One of the principal verses in the whole Bible is obviously 1 Corinthians 14:34 but very unfortunately the Gothic Bible manuscript does not contain this pivotal, ageless kernel of wisdom. It ends abruptly at 14:27, as follows:
Quote:
jaþþe razdai hvas rodjai, bi twans aiþþau maist þrins, jah ....

Based on your insider knowledge, could you provide the remaining verses to help us preach to your tribal members about the True™ way to worship sweet Jesus?
Thank you in advance!

Christians are not supposed to have thoughts of their own. It's a common misconception that our brains are meant for thinking. They are not. All the answers you seek are in God's Holy Bible. No thinking is required.

and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him
from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans 10:9
1. Admit you are a worthless sinner. Romans 3:10
2. Be willing to turn from sin (repent). Acts 17:30

Lord Jesus, I know that I have sinned against you.
I know that I am not perfect and that I can never

know that I have absolutely nothing to offer you.
Lord Jesus, I ask you to forgive me. I do not rely

to get to know Christ better.
2. Talk to God in prayer every day.
3. Be baptized, worship, fellowship,

and the Bible is the final authority.

Never did understand the fascination “goths” had with trying to be “as black as possible”. I used to think nigras were the crazy ones what with their pleading for welfare checks and listening to rap music, but to learn there are young white folk who WANT to dress in all black to (I can only surmise mind you) be as black as possible on the hellbound train to HELL. I am rather pleased this Raven person is seeing the error of her (you are a her right?) ways. God bless you and may the light shine ever forward so that you may one day become as Christian as many of the white folk I’ve come to know around these parts.

Indeed. Lady's father missed the opportunity to beat some good sense into his daughter when she was young enough to learn from such lessons. Jesus tells us how we can discern loving parents from abusive parents who hate their children and neglect their eternal well-being:
He that spareth his rod hateth his son:
but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

I'm not aware of any rapture theories. There are only rapture facts. One important detail concerns deceased persons. Queen Victoria or Julius Caesar are easy enough, as Daniel makes clear. Here he is describing various kings, tzars, dictators, ayatollahs, whatever – all carrying on much as they usually do but with increased intensity.
Daniel 11:44-45; 12:1-2 But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him [one of the kings] therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many. And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him. And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
Vicki and Jules are dead. They will come back to life and we'll see what happens then, whether they awaken to shame and everlasting contempt or to everlasting life. These are not "theories" but simple historical facts. Next, God explains, dead Christians will resurrect and living Christians will zoom up to meet them. Again, not something I'm "interpreting" but straightforward future history recorded by Paul (and earlier by Daniel) which is easy to read and understand.
I Thessalonians 4:16-16 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first
What about someone who died that day? Earlier there was a question about cannibals. What would happen to a missionary still in the pot but half eaten? That would be a dead Christian but the concept of resurrection in those circumstances is difficult. But also easy. If we're alive at the time we'll see that missionary in the clouds and if not, we'll be alive again, also in the clouds, greeting one another. No need to make up "theories" because it's right there, straight from God (Paul says so) in black and white. Hallelujah!
