Nothing is worse in our democracy than using Christian ritual for political purposes. Recently, in Bismarck, ND, its State Capital, two legislators had had enough when a preacher prayed thanks to the "creator" for the "diversity of human beings."

It happened when Republicans in the North Dakota legislature were ready to pass a bill prohibiting schools from referring to students as anything other than male or female. The two legislators, like all Christians, know God is the only creator and that there are no genders other than the ones He made.

So, the two legislators did the right thing, they turned their backs to the preacher. It was a proud moment for North Dakota.

Disgusting. They might as well invite The Satanic Temple in to make a point about the State not favoring any religion, which would have been unthinkable in Bismarck, ND until now. The country is in free fall and all they can think of doing is coughing up a loogie and spitting it in Jesus' mouth.

This is inspiring, Brother Mayor! Spiritual Battles require care and precision in addition to the unflinching courage these legislators show. These fine Soldiers of Christ do us all proud.

What's got into the Presbyterians? If everyone's created in the image of God, why would there be diversity at all? After the fall perhaps they could start making up new categories and being offended whenever they opened the front door – but that has nothing to do with God. It's the outcome of rejecting His love, not of embracing it. I knew there were pretend "churches" where they just made up rules for themselves but this Rev'd Doctor seems to be following an altogether different Gospel.
