Stop & Minister™: Help a lonely truck driver find Jesus. -
06-16-2011, 04:35 AM
Announcing a brand new ministry dedicated to going forth in the world and saving more souls for Jesus Christ! We are proud to launch a new evangelical program called Stop & Minister™ which seeks to spread the Gospel to weary travelers and truck drivers along rest stops and truck stops on the interstate highways throughout Iowa.
The life of an interstate long-haul truck driver can often be hopeless and lonely and these men need Jesus Christ in their lives. That is where we come in. Our all-male volunteer staff is assigned to certain rest and truck stops with KJV Bibles in hand to personally minister to these lost souls. Even if you lead a busy life (which every True Christian™ man usually does), we have a 24 hour schedule so we can find a time that is right for you. Maybe you can work afternoon's at the Love's Truck Stops off I-80, or the late night shift just outside the restrooms at the rest stop outside of Grinnell.
We are seeking active, energetic men (sorry, no women....these highway stops can be risky and dangerous) who love to bring other men into Christ's fold. Active participation in our other men's ministries, such as G.A.P.E. is a plus. You will be given a 2 day training course. You will learn not to just approach strangers saying "Let me talk to you about Jesus", since that can sometimes scare them away. Instead you learn tricks like "You look kind of lonely. Maybe you need companionship?" or "How about we go into your truck's back compartment and let me show you something amazing.". You also get a refresher course on apologetics and the most important Bible verses which are relevant to a life on the road.
If you are interested please call my office, private message me, or email me at revjimosborne@gmail.com Also, sign up for our brand new social group!

I have added my name to the signup sheet in the Fellowship Hall and left a voice mail for you earlier today. I have considerable experience sharing the Good News at Interstate rest stops during my travels and look forward to joining my Brothers in Christ in a more coordinated Christian Outreach effort in our own area of the country.
My greatest success to date is a lonely young man I led to Salvation™ at a rest stop a little north of Kansas City on I-35 late one cold November night as I was catching a nap after driving several hours on my way back from the Creation Research Society's annual meeting in Oklahoma City.
As I was sitting in my idling Buick, dozing off while listening to praise and worship music, I noticed a well dressed young man - probably in his early 20s - had been lingering outside the restroom for sometime. The Holy Spirit spoke to me, saying "Go to him", so I knew exactly what needed to be done. I grabbed my King James Authorized Version © 1611 that I always keep in the car, walked over to the young man and said, "You look like you need a friend."
He got in the car and we drove a way on some back roads away from the Interstate, finally stopping at a grain silo. I told him about Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, told him the Good News of Jesus' kind offer of Redemption (Romans 6:23), and we prayed together. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal LORD and Savior, I laid my hands on him, and he received the Holy Spirit into him.
Acts 8:15-17
Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
We fellowshipped for what seemed like a short time, but before we knew it, the sun was coming up, and he needed to get back to his home before his wife woke up and realized he was gone. We keep in touch, and my heart is gladdened to report that he was recently ordained as a Youth Pastor at his new church home.
I always give him a call when I'm going to be going south on I-35 and we meet up at one of several gas stations, truck stops, or rest stops. He seems to have a list of some sort. Now that he is a True Christian™, we greet each other with a holy kiss, as instructed by Scripture.
I Corinthians 16:20
All the brethren greet you. Greet ye one another with an holy kiss.
We drive back to the silo where he was Saved®, and fellowship together vigorously, with Jesus in our midst.
Matthew 18:20
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
I always leave physically exhausted, but spiritually fulfilled - so full of the Holy Spirit that I can practically feel it oozing out of me.
I look forward to this opportunity to make more friends in Christ at highway rest stops and to win more souls for Jesus, causing great jubilation among the angels. Jesus will be so pleased with what we are doing!
Luke 15:7
I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
II Thessalonians 1:7-9
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power
The man who is being progressively sanctified will inescapably sanctify his home, school, politics, economics, science, and all things else by understanding and interpreting all things in terms of the Word of God and by bringing all things under the Dominion of Christ the King. -R.J. Rushdoony

Since I have only my moped for transportation, I would prefer an assignment close to Freehold. I'm thinking the rest stop just north of Ankeny.
I can strap on a nice warm blanket - or a two person sleeping bag for cooler evenings - on the back, store my KJV under the seat, and I'll be ready to go.
I think we should also be on the lookout for rusty vans filled with strapping young messican men to bring them to Jesus and recant their papist leanings. Of course I would need a bigger sleeping bag, but I can work that out.

You can count on me Rev. Osborne!
As a trucker myself, I have been laying hands upon my fellow truckers for years. I have seen more than my fair share of men sodomizing each other. I have done my best to get in there and do what I can. I am sure with your expert tutelage, I can be even more effective with my fellow truckers. I am prepared for the sweaty nights, the feverent pounding of Gods Word® that will get these lost souls to open up to Him and allow Him to engulf them in His love.
I will pledge to you get ten men a night to drop to their knees for Jesus.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

You are so kind and thoughtful Rev. Osborne. I shudder to think what this God forsaken World would be like without you in it.
This thread reminds of the beautiful song JESUS Take the Wheel.
Or as this beautiful pictures depicts JESUS pushing this man from the rear.

This topic brings up fond memories. I used to hang out with truckers when I hitchhiked through the country as teenager. Those big men used to treat me like princess. And I sure, late at night, you could hear me praying "oh my dear God" when I managed to get special connection with the trucker. Those days I was young and not so well prepared, but I sure that many still think that I was their own angel.
Of course I wasn't then True Christian and spread false christianity. I sure I could do better now. Maybe we could arrange similar campaign here at North Eurostania.

As many of you rightly suspected, I was involved in this program from its inception. Reverend Jim and I worked closely together, building the program from the ground up. Jim realized early on that my experience as an Ex-Gay© would be invaluable in reaching out to these lost souls. And my ability to recognize sodomites at a distance proved invaluable.
I have worked with each of our young volunteers very closely, often in role playing situations, teaching them to read the subtle clues and behaviors common to the various types of individuals that they might encounter on there ministering expeditions. Ministering to an unrepentant, life long sodomite is quite different from ministering to an inexperienced, lonely, and confused young trucker. But in the end, it is all about bringing sinners to Jesus on the open roads.
So, if you are out driving across the upper Midwest one night, on some lonely highway and you see a well dressed young man standing alone at a rest stop, why not pull over and strike up a conversation? It will more than likely be one of our volunteers, valiantly struggling to bring the love of Jesus to those that need Him the most. Glory!

And Rev. Jim didn't tell us of your involvement in this great new ministry. What a kidder. I'll bet the two of you planned this present surprise.
The two of you teaming up like this is just overwhelming. Rev. Jim in his earlier years being a no-good fornicator, embezzler, and all around low life. You, in your lost youth, a notorious queer, grabbing whatever little boys and teenagers were available and generally living a worthless existence either on your knees or bent over in some public toilet. And here you are together. Shout Glory!
Now, about all those handsome young lads you've recruited to minister to the lost souls of the open road.
Should I show up at my assigned rest stop north of Ankeny, bible and blanket/sleeping bag in hand, and see a young gentleman standing there, how will I know him?
I'm pretty sure if he is one of ours he'll know I'm not a trucker - after all, I'll be on my moped - and will play hard-to-get. He'll probably try to ignore me.
But for me, I'll probably think he's some handsome young trucker whose "big rig" lies broken down on the road and he hitchhiked to get to the rest stop.
So, is there some sort of secret grip we should exchange? Will he have a little tattoo somewhere I should look for - nothing visible, mind you, - perhaps a discrete little unicorn or something on his inner thigh?
