You seem to have this idea that catholics are Christians. As we've seen in another thread, because they make idols—as defined by God—and because this is such a major element in their creed, indeed I'd say it was the primary focus of everything they've ever built, it's impossible for them to be following Jesus
Christ's ideas and therefore impossible for them to be
Christians. How did we arrive at this conclusion? By looking at the place you suggested where they preserve art.

You cited Mark's Gospel as follows:
Mark 1:10 And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him
I know about
the Spirit like a dove descending upon Jesus and so if that's what the wretched bird is supposed to be it is perhaps the most blasphemous object imaginable. As you will remember, we looked at The Ten Commandments.
Quote:
Deuteronomy 5:8
Thou shalt not make thee any graven image,
or any likeness
of any thing
that is in heaven above,
or that is in the earth beneath,
or that is in the waters beneath the earth
A bird is a thing.

The verse divides up into six direct instructions, no interpretation needed from me, not to
• 8a make engraved or carved images
with an exhaustive list of subjects included. The word to look for is
any. Claims that The Spirit is not a creature like a slug or a giraffe or even a human being are disingenuous. Either they're lies about the idol itself, knowing full well what it is, or they're lies about Bible knowledge. Whatever the bird is, a sparrow, a penguin or The Holy Ghost visiting the earth temporarily, it's prohibited as much for what it is as for its location
• 8c of any thing
• 8d in heaven (The Holy Ghost when not on earth)
• 8e on earth (The Holy Ghost whether appearing as a bird or not) (and birds)
• 8f swimming in the waters
so the passage about doves is irrelevant. God could turn up as a fish and just because it was God would not mean it could be an idol because God also lives in Heaven and because fish are prohibited anyway. Christians don't need to think about this, simply read The Bible and it's right there. You seem to have a fascination with profligate wives. How do you understand Paul's message to the flock in Galatia?
Galatians 3:26 – 4:1 Ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all
