Texas turns out to be all hat and no cattle. Nothing but steers and queers:
CNN: Like other Americans, Texans with a college degree are shifting rapidly from red to blue, and Democrats have a lot of room to grow with them in Texas.
This doesn't mean the state will go Democratic in 2020 (Democrats not named Joe Biden currently are losing to Trump in the Lone Star state in high quality polling), but it is a real possibility.
...If the 2020 election were held today and it were solely a referendum on Trump, Texas would be a toss-up.
This may sound scary, but notice the second paragraph: only Joe Biden has a chance in Texas. Why? Because, according to
Slate:
...he talks about bipartisanship, decency, the middle class, and the glory days of the Obama-Biden administration. He thinks he can beat President Donald Trump not with a bold, progressive agenda, but by appealing to moderates and Republicans who don’t like Trump.
There’s a good chance he’s correct. Even if Biden is the wrong candidate, he has the right strategy.
Two weeks ago, in a debate among the Democratic presidential candidates, Biden defended the center against the left.
Fortunately, he seems to be the only candidate who is clearly taking this position, listening to voters rather than activists and twitter-addicts.
