Hello -
07-04-2019, 05:35 PM
I am new here. I am seeking the companionship of Christians. The death of my husband has rattled me more than I can say. That said, I have turned more to my faith in God and His son, Jesus. Anyway, I just wanted to say hello.

Mrs C, I am so sorry for the grief you must feel. As Christians, we can take comfort that our missing loved ones are happily at home with Jesus. Which Bible verse has given you comfort in these most trying times? Praying for Jesus' Love to come over you and shower you in His Golden Light.

Hi .. welcome to the forum.
It's always a challenge to lose a family member. Just imagine what it must be like for someone without the certainty of not suffering forever or of going to Heaven to be with Jesus. Perhaps they feel like the whole world stopped, but even then God reminds us of Salvation and to keep praising Him.
Habakkuk 3:17-18 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. Habakkuk is always encouraging, reminding us that God is more powerful than the sun or moon or earthquakes. Even so, heathens will make gold plated statues to worship (I have no idea why) and God does not overlook such an insult.
Is there a book you find helpful?

Lest I seem cold, sorry about someone biting the dust. It happens and we have to buck up and move forward. So where’s your proper introduction? God is a busy God and we’re busy people. Welcome to our friendly space on the Interwebs.

So how many sons did you and your husband manage to produce before his untimely demise?

Oh, dear Sister Dana: Goodness me, I've noticed that we've had no word back from our new friend yet. One wonders if our many friendly greetings have overwhelmed the poor dear. Wouldn't you think she could at least make an attempt to thank us for so warmly welcoming her here?
A blessed day to you, dear Sister Dana,
Sincerely, Isabella W.

It saddens me - we welcome them with all the love our Lord and Saviour has to offer and they rebuke it.

Welcome Ma'am. I understand how you elderly women have 'urges' and think male companionship is the answer. Usually, it is actually incontinence (aka 'bladder leakage) solved with a hand towel clamped between your wrinkly thighs.
If you are just lonely, perhaps a Good Book is called for, may I suggest the Bible. It is chock full of stories that you old gals seem to like. The birth of Christ, babies floating down rivers, all sorts of marvelous unbelievably incredible stories. Just imagine, You and Jesus, walking on a beach, hand in hand, the moon glistening off the waves crashing on the shores, His piercing gaze looking deep into your soul.
Failing that, you could simply bake something. If desperate, leave a pie on the window sill, a darkie will be along to steal a slice of it.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Oh, yes, that is so true, dear Brother Hutchins. Goodness gracious, I can remember one time when I had just made a particularly impressive apple pie, and I had put it out on the window sill to cool. Normally, I wouldn't expect any trouble living in this nice neighborhood, but when I checked on the pie later, it was gone! My neighbor, Clementine, called later that afternoon to say that the hourly newscast reported that an arrest had been made. Apparently, a sneaky nigra wanted to disguise himself so he wouldn't be seen in broad daylight. Clementine sent me a sketch of the dastardly culprit! Will they stop at nothing? Ever since that Obummer came around, they seem to think they can do whatever they want.
A blessed day to you, dear Brother Hutchins,
Sincerely, Isabella W.

Even I had to laugh at this. Indeed, the jiggaboos will steal anything that isn't attached to something that cannot be removed.
Do you like Johnny Rebel? I bet most of you Bible Belt dwellers have heard of him. Here this one's a classic enjoy the drive and the awe inspiring lyrics.
