Michelle Obama Expands Program That Gives All Students Free Meals

On Tuesday, First Lady Michelle Obama and U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will announce the expansion of a pilot program that gives all students, regardless of income, free school meals, including breakfast and lunch.

The original program targeted students in 11 states, but as of July 1, it will be expanded to 22,000 schools across the country where 40 percent or more of the students are eligible for free or reduced-price lunches, a sign of a high concentration of poverty. The administration says this will reach 9 million children and help them “eat health meals at school, especially breakfast, which can have profound impacts on educational achievement.”

Programs that give all students free meals come with a variety of benefits. It eliminates the stigma children on free or reduced-price meals can experience, particularly when schools throw out their lunches and stamp their hands when their balances run low.

It can also save schools and parents a big headache when it comes to paperwork. Just half of the students who are eligible for free breakfast actually receive it, perhaps due to complications with getting enrolled. And in Boston, where the school district made all students eligible for free meals, there had previously been many families who fell just outside the income limits for the free meal program and are now able to participate.

Adequate nutrition also has a huge impact on learning. Hunger has a big negative impact on cognitive and social development and makes children far more susceptible to mental illness — it’s a more significant factor in mental illness than poverty or family education level.

Yet hunger is a widespread problem among America’s schoolchildren. Three-quarters of the country’s teachers report having students who routinely show up hungry, and half say hunger is a serious problem in their classrooms. More than one in five American kids lacks steady access to food.

Hello fellow True Christians!

I absolutely agree with all of you - Obama's so-called "free lunch program" is nothing but communist indoctrination of our children. Those kids are going to grow up thinking that food only comes from Big Government, first as "school lunch" and later as "food stamps." By the time they're in their 20s, they'll be prostituting themselves in gay sex just to obtain free Twinkies and potato chips. This is what the liberals want - Big Government and homoism, in order to impose their New World Order.

Sometimes I think I was born too late - the 1930s must have been a paradise! Back in my Grand-daddy's day, they had no welfare and food stamps. My Grand-dad used to tell me how, when he lived in Germany, he worked at a camp for kids. And when those kids wanted to eat, they had to earn it. There were no free handouts.

Fortunately, I am happy to report that my company is doing its part. It's true that not all kids have enough money to buy lunch, but we provide ways for them to earn it. At our privately-run charter schools, we've introduced a school-lunch program with a difference. The kids volunteer to participate in some of my company's drug trials. This saves us a good deal of time and money at getting new drugs tested, plus it keeps PETA off our backs since we don't need to harm any animals.

This can only to lead healthier and better-tasting food products. Personally, I think parents that only feed their kids so-called "organic food" should be prosecuted for child abuse.

While liberals force their kids to eat vegetables and drink raw milk and make a lot of noise about it in public, responsible corporations quietly go about the business of producing the high-fat, high-sugar and chemically-rich tasty treats that children crave!

I'd been pushing my friend Gov. Butch to sign that bill for awhile, but he balked, telling me about how it was unconstitutional and all that crap. However, after we sent him a copy of that video with him and the 12-year-old in a hotel - filmed in the Dominican Republic during the last Rush Limbaugh annual "Save the children tour" (sponsored by Viagra™) - he had a change of heart. Good to see that he finally did the right thing, and of course we're sending him a $2 million donation for his re-election campaign this November.

Without a doubt, secretly filming propaganda videos of suffering farm animals is unabashed socialism and should be illegal. Sure, I believe in freedom of speech, but what's that got to do with filming? I even read the Constitution (well actually, my secretary read it for me), and absolutely it does NOT say anything in there about Americans having the right to make propaganda videos. In fact, it doesn't even mention the word "video," so those libtards who claim that they got some kind of constitutional "video rights" are just plain lying.

We can also turn to the Bible for guidance. My secretary read the Bible for me, and she assures me that it doesn't say anything in there about making videos. If God is mum on the issue, I think it's fair to assume that He wants corporations to decide what should and should not be legal.

But anyway, I can tell you for sure is that we treat all the animals at our factory farms with kindness and humanity. One thing that biologists believe - and I think even the animal rights commies will agree - is that chickens, pigs and cows are social creatures. That is to say - just like people - they don't like to be alone. They need to be with their own kind - this social support is the key to happiness for all higher creatures like mammals and birds. If you got any pets in your home, I'm sure you've seen it in their behavior - they crave company. God made them this way.

For this reason, we've made it a policy at our factory farms to promote togetherness:

Our animals are so happy that when it comes time to hang them up by their rear feet and slit their throats, they don't even protest.
