Didymus Much
Heyhey, you learned something! Bet it didn't even hurt as much as you thought it would. Now you only have about 29,000 different factions of Christianity left to learn about before you can discuss this intelligently. One step forward, two steps back.

I'm having trouble here. As a heathen could you advise me whether you had any idea where the word "Baptist" came from before joining a forum to discuss Christianity?

Historians trace the earliest Baptist church back to 1609 in Amsterdam, with John Smyth as its pastor.quote supplied by Dotty too

In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea.

You see the Historical Record I have here traces the earliest Baptist back to the year dot, not 1609, in fact to Jesus' cousin. The Greek language even had a word waiting to distinguish John (the Baptist) from John the Pharisee or John the Zoroastrian or John the Bondage-tart, a transparent attempt to get the thread back on topic will it work probably not
Were you aware in your foolishness that the Baptist delineation
existed in the first century even if you were not cognizant
of its significance in identifying the original form of Christianity? The only Church having continuity from the time of Jesus?
