Did somebody mention shells? Here's Oliver Wendell Holmes.
This is the ship of pearl, which, poets feign,
Sails the unshadowed main,—
The venturous bark that flings
On the sweet summer wind its purpled wings
In gulfs enchanted, where the Siren sings,
And coral reefs lie bare,
Where the cold sea-maids rise to sun their streaming hair.
Its webs of living gauze no more unfurl;
Wrecked is the ship of pearl!
And every chambered cell,
Where its dim dreaming life was wont to dwell,
As the frail tenant shaped his growing shell,
Before thee lies revealed,—
Its irised ceiling rent, its sunless crypt unsealed!
Year after year beheld the silent toil
That spread his lustrous coil;
Still, as the spiral grew,
He left the past year’s dwelling for the new,
Stole with soft step its shining archway through,
Built up its idle door,
Stretched in his last-found home, and knew the old no more.
Thanks for the heavenly message brought by thee,
Child of the wandering sea,
Cast from her lap, forlorn!
From thy dead lips a clearer note is born
Than ever Triton blew from wreathèd horn!
While on mine ear it rings,
Through the deep caves of thought I hear a voice that sings:—
Build thee more stately mansions, O my soul,
As the swift seasons roll!
Leave thy low-vaulted past!
Let each new temple, nobler than the last,
Shut thee from heaven with a dome more vast,
Till thou at length art free,
Leaving thine outgrown shell by life’s unresting sea!

So, if this new OS is not going to be a Debian-derived Linux distribution, that means you will have to write new versions of programs that can run in it.
...Or are you planning to use solely Windows-based software?
But, isn't that what Windows is already doing?
So to sum it up: basically, your ambition is to create a less buggy version of Windows? You really think you can accomplish what Gates couldn't?

Sister, I dare say he is doing no harm unless he persuades anyone else to use it. Can you see that happening? Seriously? No, me neither. It's his own time he's wasting: time which would be better spent reading and coming to grips with the Bible and then applying its lessons to his everyday life.
Were it not for the complete and utter waste of the little time that God has afforded him on His Earth, I would find it rather endearing. As it is, I am disgusted.

Well, I suppose it's better for everyone else that he's on a computer in his Mom's basement, rather than creating mayhem somewhere else.

Have you considered the possibility of posting about this on a forum where people are actually interested? Assuming you can find one, that is. Just a suggestion, dear.

Well, as I am not a fan of Windows and don't use Windows software, I won't be holding my breath waiting for the beta version.

Ezekiel 18:32 teaches us that converting to Christianity, which our church has a monopoly on, will permit one to live.
I am very thankful that this new convert should have life.

I've been having a deep crisis of faith and I think I genuinely want to strengthen my personal relationship with Christ, prosper as economist of par excellance and find my path towards True ChristiandomTM, without inadvertently deepening myself as the butt-monkey around here. May I ask for help from the good people of this church how I may step in this desired direction?

I also need to do it for the kids; I don't want my little ones getting roasted to a crisp and pulverized by Satan in unimaginable way because I inadvertently led them to Hellfire. Think of the children.

How Do I get Saved? A Guide for the Lost!
In fact, all of the stickied posts in the Introduction Forum is good for noobs to read, dear. That's why Jesus likes them there.
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

God told me to be patient, He will get to me, all in good time. If God does not answer my prayers, it is my fault, not His. A man has to look deep within to find his faults and 'make right by Jesus'. Sometimes, God does not forgive as an example to others to not take things for granted. However, if a man is deserving, God will give unto him what he has coming.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

These are wise words to live by, Mr. Hutchins. God's telling me to be patient too.
I should like to add, while my last attempt complimenting a TCTM here did not yield happy results, I can't help but admire your bald head, in a non-homer way.
Just as well, I had a terrible nightmare last night - my username here got changed to Negro101, and a basketball hoop was installed on the side of my house. What could this mean???

There is progression and there is regression. You seem to be regressing. This is often the result of Satan's influences. You may be under the control of the Devil. The evidence is strong- you caught a disease God sent to flay the wicked, you have been acting strangely, you have been frequently rebuked for your bizarre comments here on this friendly forum by diverse moderators and you look like some kind of fish-pig hybrid according to your latest photograph. Best get right with Jesus, friend.

Amen, Brother. This poor creature seems to be determined to prove Darwinism by devolving into some sort of a screeching blob. That is sad indeed, and I'm sure Jesus is warming up a very special place in Hell for this one.

This is just an idle observation, but I can't help but notice I'm not fairing too kind with the womenfolk of this forum. The men folk have kindly given me the reputable poke up at stages, but you ladies...well, how Kipling put it best. The female of the species is more deadly than the male. Do you take issue with my appearance? I think I will subtlety slink off to the Promise Enforcers for my own well-being.
