Ways Wives Can Make this Easter Memorable for Husbands and Children -
03-28-2021, 02:12 PM
I was encouraged to read a column by a wife and mother who does not want to make the list of "Most Liberated Women." She provided a list of things any woman can do to make Easter wonderful for husband and children. Doing these will keep a wife very busy, maybe even exhausted, but after all that is what she is here to do.
I won't list all the items but it includes lots of cooking, new ideas for home Sunday School, Bible reading, gardening plus others.

Thanks for the link, Mr. Mayor. I especially like this suggestion from the article:
Quote:
Encourage your older children to make a study of the different accounts of Easter in the four Gospels. What are the similarities and the differences? What special characteristics does each account have, and which details would we miss if we only had one account? Which account seems most interesting or meaningful to them?
|
It would especially be a blessing if the older children studied all four of Christ's authorized biographies and made a timeline of what was said and done during the time of the death and resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ. That way, they can understand exactly what all four Gospel accounts say, as opposed to what a Peanuts special says they say, and will be able to discern for themselves just how much the Holy Bible can be relied upon.
Yours in Christ (not Snoopy!),
Isaac

Oh, I think we should all rejoice in your posting this, dear Brother Mayor Hold, for it helps to remind us of the role of the womenfolk in the household.
Titus 2:4,5:
4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of be not blasphemed.
Now, then, one of the ways that I think a good wife can improve herself is simply with the act of gratitude: showing thanks to her husband for all that he has done, and for all that he has given to her and the family.
I Thessalonians 5:18 "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of in concerning you."
Not only is it important to be grateful for the clothes that one's husband provides, but it is just as important to show happiness throughout the day, when doing the household chores. I mean, if hubby is so thoughtful as to provide us with nice clothing from his hard-earned wages, then, surely the least that we can do is to be humble, and to smile graciously when doing our part at home.

Do you remember someone getting out the box of craft materials so children could make their own palm branches? That would have been your wife.

Easter is a fertility goddess pagan holiday. God doesn’t want us to celebrate like the pagans. Celebrate God’s commanded Feast of Passover and Unleavened Bread:
10 Ways a Wife Can Celebrate Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread Instead of the Unholy Easter Pagan Helliday
Jeremiah 10:1-5 Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel: Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain ...
Deuteronomy 12:29-32 When the LORD thy God shall cut off the nations from before thee, whither thou goest to possess them, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their land; Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise. Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods. What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
Leviticus 23:4-8 These are the feasts of the Lord, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons. In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the Lord's passover. And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the Lord: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread. In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord seven days: in the seventh day is an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.
Matthew 26:17 Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?
1.Throw away Easter idols and repent from making hot cross buns in the past.
Ezekiel 20:7 Then said I unto them, Cast ye away every man the abominations of his eyes, and defile not yourselves with the idols of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
Jeremiah 7:18 The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.
2. Discard any yeast and make unleavened bread for seven days.
Exodus 12:15 Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.
3. Remember the story of how God protected families in their homes by the blood of the lamb on the doors in Egypt and how the Son of God is our Lamb and the door now. Stay inside and cook a nice meal of lamb with bitter herbs and unleavened flatbread.
Luke 13:22-27 And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem. Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity
John 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
4. Teach children that we are redeemed by the blood of God’s Lamb, but we still have to obey if we want to enter the Kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
5. Watch out for the yeast of the Pharisees and cast out any sin.
Matthew 16:6 Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
Matthew 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
6. Wash your husband’s feet, like the Messiah did to his disciples.
John 13:5 After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.
7. Serve husband wine and unleavened bread. Eat and drink in remembrance of how the Son of David laid down his life for us.
Luke 22:19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
8. Teach the children how the Son of Man wanted to celebrate Passover with his disciples.
Luke 22:15 And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
9. Bake unleavened cake and more unleavened bread.
Joshua 5:11 And they did eat of the old corn of the land on the morrow after the passover, unleavened cakes, and parched corn in the selfsame day.
10. Tell others how Easter is an evil pagan holiday and to celebrate Passover instead. Tell them to repent and be prepared next year, because it’s what the King of the Israelites would do. There is also a second chance if they missed it, because they were unclean or not near Jerusalem.
John 2:23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.
Numbers 9:10 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If any man of you or of your posterity shall be unclean by reason of a dead body, or be in a journey afar off, yet he shall keep the passover unto the LORD. The fourteenth day of the second month at even they shall keep it, and eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.
John 19:19 “And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the crosse. And the writing was, IESVS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE IEWES.”

Allykat--With all due respect, listing of scripture and interpreting it is best done by Pastor Zeke and those, like True Christians™, he has trained. He has provided ample training to women so they can present a beautiful Easter for their husbands and children.

Maybe... not so fast? This time? I saw a complete, very well researched essay clearly laying out and then expanding on the topic, using relevant Scripture where appropriate. And unbelievably, it appears to be original work!
So adding that it's polite, valid, and topical, to my disappointment at not being able to tear them a new one for plagiarism, surely it merits a point-by-point takedown instead of dismissal?

Hello Mr. Johny Joe Hold, okay I understand. And I know pagan holidays are hard man-made traditions for many to break, it was for me at first. I also wonder if God can use a rock, couldn't He also use a untrained woman from time to time as well?
Mark 7:9
And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
Exodus 17:6
Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

Being alone this Easter, I have made yet again the yearly decision not to mourn my wife’s passing since her “unfortunate” accident. Besides, It’s about Jesus’ birthday and it would be selfish of me otherwise to look back. That said, I will leave a helpful tip for those “problematic” house wives on Easter who like to complain. 1 Timothy 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. Here’s a bonus tip ladies. Proverbs 21:19 [It is] better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.

A perfect message for this Easter, Brother Rutherford. Upbeat wives, working nonstop but cheerfully to make Easter a joyous time is the hallmark of Landover Baptist Church. Coming to Easter Sunday church, decked out in their finest Spring outfits, is what our women look forward to.
Pastor Zeke, I'm sure, will remark as he always does on how fine our women look. That is before he launches into his Easter Sunday sermon. I'm looking forward to that message of how Jesus died for our sins but rose again. Pastor Zeke will lean in hard on those in the congregation who might have sinned and caused Jesus to die.

That was before before Apostle Paul got rid of all of these silly Jewish superstitions.

I admit I had to google that one, that is absent in my cultural tradition, but are you saying that a cross is an idol? I'm really confused now. I looked up the recipe and I may try it next year!

God killing all these Egyptian babies surely is a beautiful story to remember. God really loves killing babies, doesn't He?

I love that verse! Yes, we need to be more righteous than the Pharisees. I'm not sure where the yeast comes in here, though - are you thinking of the kind that infects lady private parts? (Maybe you should see a doctor, or pray to get better).

Proper True Christian children don't need to wait until Easter to read all of the Holy Bible, dear.

So cakes generally don't need leavening/yeast, but breads do. Seriously!

Oh, so you're Jewish! That explains why do you disregard the teachings of the New Testament. Apostle Paul was an important writer and he completely disregarded all of these silly dietary laws. Apostle Peter did, too, after some nagging from God:
Acts 10:9-16
9 On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:
10 And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,
11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
16 This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

Re: Ways Wives Can Make this Easter Memorable for Husbands and Children -

I've always appreciated God's message for us in Acts. It's not invariably presented the way He intended though. There's a distinction drawn between Gentiles and other believers and to avoid cognitive dissonance among Jewish believers, once their unbelieving fellows had rejected Christ, the uniquely Jewish conventions were not suddenly applied to Gentiles – although obviously it's necessary to understand why Jesus had to die as a Son Of David to set us free. Otherwise it could be suggested that if a human sacrifice were needed and God needed to do the impregnating, why couldn't He just have gotten Eve pregnant and murdered that baby after a few decades? Because no such progeny could be a Son Of David! So we'd need to know that and the requirements making it essential for God in accordance with His Just Law and the words of the prophets. In Acts that distinction is preserved for us.
Herod was busy chopping people up, detached body parts seeming to be his speciality, much appreciated when chopping Christians – regardless of nationality. Two calendric highlights are mentioned for two distinct groups of people. For one group, a Jewish festival. For the other, a celebration that neither was nor is Jewish. See if you can spot them.
Acts 12:1-3, 4-5 Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church. And he killed James the brother of John with the sword. And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.) And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. The time of bringing Peter forth to the people is explained in terms all Christians understood, whatever their roots, rather than being dated according to a commemoration that may well have been alien to them. Peter's incarceration was timed to irritate Christians.
For chopping activities, on the other hand, a different group is being buttered up and a timeline of particular meaning to them is cited. Hint: it's not Easter. Altogether then a particularly obnoxious goose this Herod and God dealt with him appropriately. Spontaneous eruption into worms is rare and required some provocation in this case, even beyond incarcerating Peter as an Easter gesture. That turned out to be futile: God sent an angel to release him. But Herod was on a roll, decided to murder all the soldiers, proceeded to play God and worms it was. Check out the blue highlighted word:
Acts 12:18-19, 21-23 And when Herod had sought for [Peter] and found him not, he examined the keepers, and commanded that they should be put to death. And he went down from Judaea to Caesarea, and there abode ... And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them. And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man. And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

Thank goodness covid is gone and wives can get busy shopping for new Easter outfits. Plus they can walk the malls for the food and home making items all husbands look forward to at Easter.
Jesus wants us to celebrate His Resurrection with a perfect Easter Sunday. Wives are the ones who make this happen.
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.
