Local prison to charge for toilet paper: -

Local county does what it has to do to keep the jail budget under the allowable limit. This is what they should have been doing the whole time:

Des Moines County inmates might be charged for toilet paper
ASSOCIATED PRESS • February 12, 2009
BURLINGTON, Iowa - Inmates at the Des Moines County jail in Burlington may have to begin paying for toilet paper.
The county is facing a more than $1.7 million deficit in this year's budget and the Board of Supervisors gave department heads the option of cutting costs or facing the possibility of unpaid furloughs or layoffs.
The county also is moving forward with a $1 million bond issue later this month, leaving department directors to make up the balance.
County Budget Director Cheryl McVey said billing inmates for toilet paper could save more than $2,300.
|
I can guarantee that this will reduce the waste and cost of toilet paper in the jail once the inmates start hoarding it. Before, if Jerome spilled a coke, he would just ask Bruce to toss him a roll of toilet paper and use THE ENTIRE THING to wipe up the mess. THAT COSTS MONEY, PEOPLE!! What will they wipe their messes up with now? Who cares. They can use their dirty socks, for all I care.
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

Paper! Such profligacy! I append a useful and durable item that Jesus Himself would have recognized.
Cheap, hygienic and sustainable. God gave us sponges for a purpose.
Also it gives a new insight into what that Roman solider was offering to Our Savior as He was temporarily dying on the cross! Lu:23:36: And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar,

They give out free toilet paper in prison? I didn't know they even had toilets in there...

Let's go one step further and eliminate the bathrooms completely. If these evil-doers wanted indoor plumbing they should have not commited crimes.

Charging for tuchus wipes? Not before time I say!
Flicking through the copy of the KJV 1611 edition that Brother Wide Open lent me, I see many references to "damnation without relief", I do!
They should be grateful they have latrines at all they should!

You know, I can almost hear the wheels turning in this joo's head, scheming up a way of making a sheckel out of selling "slightly used" TP to America's prisons.
You people are all moneyhungry. That's one of the reasons that God hates you.

I think it's a sign we're feeding them altogether too much if they constantly have to go to the bathroom. We could save money by trimming their diet, as well....and it would be healthier for them.

Or install bidets in the bathrooms. That would be humiliating, too, which I don't think is illegal, yet. Make them say, "merci" as they leave the bathroom.
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

You know, that's an interesting idea. We might give it a trial run in the Quarantine Unit?
I see some sort of hygienic plug, with biweekly bidet privileges if they've earned them.
And we can charge a Corkage Fee.

That was uncalled for.
Why haven't you signed up for the pancake breakfast at IHOP yet? Are you holding out?
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

I am traveling right now and don't know if I will be in Freehold in time for the Pancake Breakfast.
The American Girl doll company has asked me to consult on a series of dolls inspired by Louisa May Alcott's book Little Women. I do not know if I can accept the offer, though, because the more I learn about Alcott, the more pagan and godless her upbringing seems to be.
I suspect the book has hidden messages in it, too.
