Thanks for the comment. Yes, idol kissing requires ever new idols to kiss I guess. Many such cults originated in Babylon but God did explain to one group (descended from someone having the drive to get out from Ur and go somewhere else, anywhere, whom God directed and to whom God made a promise) NOT to make idols. The LORD God Almighty had been known from the time of Adam's grandson and Eve already knew who God was from at least as early as her conversation in Eden; Noah both walked and talked with Him.
Genesis 4:25-26 And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew. And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.
Genesis 3:13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
Genesis 6:9-13 Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God ... And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me...
So many people call themselves "Christians" but don't seem to care about what God has to say. Some things are unimportant: whether I prefer tea or coffee; mint sauce or redcurrant jelly? maybe camomile rather than toast for breakfast. Heretics come up with rules of their own about tea and coffee and stuff, we know that, but there's nothing in The Bible. Others find cultic symbols acceptable, a statue maybe or some temple activities EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED BY GOD FOR ALL TIME. Many of these started off in Babylon, perhaps Abram had seen them in Ur, so to rake up some more that would be one place to look.
To do that you'd have to know what you were doing.
