Welcome, then. Your introduction is rather sparse and somewhat confusing. What church do you attend? Tell us all about yourself and your relationship with Jesus.

Forgive me. I meant God, gunz, beans with bacon. My xyl and I belong to The United Church of Christ. Lately our relationship with the Lord is waning after learning our Catholic priest is homosexual and participated in foreign exchange student programs with male children for decades. Further, my brother an ex con homosexual pedo has run from our help to save his soul. I've found nothing but ill in all things homosexual, and now my xyl and I fear the new perversions of gender identity, among other world social failings. Thank you for your greeting.

I'm afraid that wasn't any less confusing. What is an xyl? Why does your Church of Christ have a Catholic priest? What is your favorite Bible verse?
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

xyl=wife. Amateur radio speak. It is American lingo. Our Catholic priest was a friend I grew up with while in Catholic school (we've never been Catholic). He was then a priest, now retired. Our friendship spanned 45 years. Our choice of faith was about 10 years ago when we found UCC. My xyl and I favor John 3-16.

Thank you for clearing that up, friend! You should probably be aware that this forum does not have an accompanying radio channel, and if it did it would be used to read the Word of God because people cannot help but convert when they hear It (Romans 10:17). But maybe if we had a second channel we could learn the radio lingo! Breaker One-Nine! Breaker One-Nine! I've got the Spirit of the LORD in my Soul and I'm about to put the Pedal DOWN!
Oh! That is fun!

If you and your wife (who seems to be named Xyl, is she some kind of a foreigner?) favor John 3:16, what are your thoughts about John 3:18? That's the conditional clause, which means 99.9% of humanity is destined to hell. That's how much God loves us, that if we don't love Him back, He'll torment us in Hell for eternity. That means all people who died without being exposed to Christianity, including babies who died before being able to accept Jesus as their Savior, will roast for eternity.

You know I wonder about that. Are 100% of humanity destined to hell and for some Jesus redacts the destiny?
Or did Christians always have a different destiny?
.... Colossians 1 – 2
1:17 He is before all things, and by him all things consist.…
1:19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell.…
2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us,
2:14 which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross,
2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers he made a shew of them openly,
2:15 Triumphing over them in it.

I like to remain neutral on 3:18, for you see, I believe God is benevolent. Your fire and brimstone die hard interpretation literally leaves no room for sin/failure/learning. As humans we're all flawed, but to dwell on failure leaves no room for success here or in heaven. To dwell on sin/failure can easily become an obsession, an addictive behavior God would surely frown on.

I forgot one. According to the DSM5, the "obsession of perfection" can be one of the most difficult daunting conditions to treat. Guilt seems to be the main root of this when it becomes a mental illness. It's also tied to excessive compulsion disorders. In other words, it is possible to become "too religious" in the extreme, especially if fire and brimstone is on ones plate all the time. I think God would understand this as "only He" is perfect.

The word of God is the word of God and all have important meaning. A Bible believing Christian cannot pick and choose those parts he will accept and reject other parts. Our salvation stems from a complete surrender to Him and His word. Those parts of scripture which promise paradise are easy to accept, while those parts of scripture that promise the wrath of God are less attractive but cannot be ignored. The True Christian accepts all parts of His word. God loves us but He is an angry God, stern and unyielding, cruel and yet just. It is best to stay on His good side.

Would you care to provide some Scripture to support your view?
Oh!... No you can't, because you don't base what you believe on what God says, you prefer to make up whatever you want to believe. How convenient!

You neglected to mention that "xyl" stands for "E x Young Lady" in your "Ham" lingo - certainly guaranteed to upset the SJW's and the PC crowd (making your "wife" an old lady).
Speaking of "radio", I remember listening to Rush Limbaugh on the Marconi back in the days when he was excoriating that communist Roosevelt, and later the Clintons and Obamunists. As we were to later find out, Marconi didn't invent "radio" and it was Tesla that was given the credit (forgetting Maxwell and Hertz).
Hell's foundations quiver at the shout of praise;
brothers, lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.

I love Jesus. He's a pretty nice guy from what I've heard of his three decades on Earth. I'm pretty sure he threw no one into a fire, so why would daddy? I'm betting his pop is a nice guy too! It's "the other guy" I fear, certainly not Peter at the gates. I spend less time quoting scripture and more time praying and helping others. I think I read that somewhere in an instruction manual. I'm good.

The Scripture is our only source of knowledge about what God and Jesus think and do. What makes you think that you know what They did and are going to do?

Any Germans in here transcribe Gutenberg? A great blacksmith setting the mold of our future for sure on his scripture, but how many trannies since then? Scripture is not stone if the stone was corrupted by, let's see, time since 1450? I own MANY versions of the Bible, and interpretation varies greatly. Quote Gutenberg in here and impress me!

The Gutenberg Bible is a flawed Latin translation known as Vulgate. Who on earth would want to consult such a corrupt text?
