Back when I had my office job, I would always turn the air conditioner off when my supervisor was out on vacation. Who cares if the other employees are comfortable? It did my heart good to know I was saving the company a little bit of money. The other employees complained about it being hot all the time but none of them other than the supervisor even knew how to work the air conditioner.
I turned it back on when he got back. I think he secretly knew what I was doing because he could have told other employees how to fix it but kept giving them bad or vague advice when he got back.
One of my lazy coworkers got heat stroke one day. Fortunately, she was a temp and the company was able to get out of paying worker's comp and other benefits. I don't know what she was even doing in the office. Plus, we shared an office space (you can imagine how bad that was. Always having to answer the dumb question and hear her rattling on about her kids

) so doing that gave me more space for me. I don't know if she quit or if she was terminated or couldn't come back due to medical reasons or whatever but I didn't see her in again after that.
Look, the moral here is it's about what you can sacrifice for your employer. You work for them, they don't work for you.
