PC Police Mutilating Our Slave Owning Heritage

It was announced today that the new edition of Adventures of Huckleberry Finn will NOT contain the words "nigger" or "injun." Excuse me? This is a book that documents our slave-owning heritage and the LIEberals want to deny that heritage! I guess they will all say that this, like the Constitution, is a "living document?" Poppycock!

I agree with this too. Part of what makes old literature worth reading is to see the historical context something is presented in and then to critically evaluate the events told in the story. From there, we can make a value judgment and decide that it would be immoral to act as people did in the past. Once you divorce these works from that historical context (for example, by removing words and events we consider wrong nowadays), it actually makes the process of rejecting the institution presented in the text more difficult because it is making it less distasteful.

In short, any censorship is doubleplus ungood.

Sorry, but this God-hating atheist thinks that this revision is long overdue! Mark Twain was a despicable racist man who glorified slavery in the Mark Twain and Huckleberry Finn books. It is simply inappropriate to teach children a book that has horrible racial slurs in it, whatever the context.

Personally, I would've gone further. Changing Ni**er to "Slave" is also demeaning. No, I would've revised the book so it changes to "African-American" and I would've removed the whole slavery aspect, since it makes African-Americans look like weak, cowardly, slothful people. I would've made Jim a very successful entrepeneur in the African-American business community. In fact, I would make him the hero of the novel and make Huckleberry Finn be his personal assistant.

Lastly, I would totally rewrite Jim's speech. It stereotypes African-Americans as illiterate, uneducated buffoons who speak only in ebonics:

"I doan’ hanker for no mo’ un um, Huck. Dese is all I kin stan’."

would become

"I certainly do not desire for any more of them, Huck. This is all I can currently tolerate."

See how much better that is?

As much as I loath to agree with Tyeisha X on anything she is right. Huck Finn is full of racists slurs that as a good and TRUE Christian disgust me. There is no room for hate for even Hammites in Christianity. It is up to God to judge and punish people like He did with the father raping Hammites. We need to be less judgmental of people.

I think it's high time someone rewrote all of Mark Twain's satanistic grimoires to make them more suitable for Christian children! His writing is full of vicious attacks against our Lord, and it needs to be changed!

Calling Negrows "slaves" is just a way of showing them the simple respect of acknowledging that they have a rightful place in God's creation. It gives them a sense of belonging.
