Freehold May Install an Inflatable Jesus -
10-07-2018, 03:23 PM
There are so many inspirational Jesus statues around the U. S. The most famous one, Touchdown Jesus, had to be reconstructed due to a fire caused by lightening.
I'd like to have something as inspirational as Touchdown Jesus in Freehold, maybe in front of City Hall. But the cost is giving me second thoughts.
There is another good option, however. It is an inflatable Jesus that is powered by an fan. These inflatable statues last quite a while and would present Freehold as a City devoted to Jesus. I like this model:
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

Great idea, Mayor!
However, I'd suggest that the Inflatable Jesus in Freehold be installed in a place where the unsaved cannot touch it. We'd want our Jesus to be safe from molestation such as the abomination shown in the picture you provided. That woman (?) is touching Jesus in a very inappropriate way!

Good point, Sister Basilissa. Looking at the picture further it appears a woman is trying to peek under Jesus' garment. We would need to have security people on site 24/7.

That looks terrific! Are they selling them at Home Depot? If you blow more air into, it, will it get even bigger?
I'd love to have one of Christ on a Cross for Easter too.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

I may be getting a bit beyond the budget here, but I see a much larger inflatable statue filled with helium and tethered by cables to the Freehold Landover Baptist Church to such an altitude that it can be seen from the Interstate highway.
It would serve as a reminder that Jesus not only temporarily died for our sins, but ascended bodily into Heaven (and thus depriving the cathylicks of body parts to sell).
Quote:
And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.

Here is an inflatable cross we could rent each Easter.

Isn't renting a bit tacky?
Romans 13:8
Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
I am also on board with Brother WJB. A gas light enough to reach the Heavens, tethered to the firmament, perhaps illuminated from within and visible by all four corners of Gods Earth. We could easily pay for it with a small weekly fee charged to the Tin Tithers.

I'm not a theologian, but I see a difference between an inflatable Jesus and worshiping statues like the Catholics do. Have you ever noticed how much reverence Catholics give to statues of Mary? They are over the top--it is idolatry.
We Baptists are about marketing. An inflatable Jesus lets Jesus reach new people. Yes, there may be some who are lifted spiritually by seeing this huge Jesus display but it is because they become aware of their own sin. Those without sin do not have the same reaction. That we know Jesus better than Catholics saves us from idolatry.

This entirely reassures me. Also, an inflatable is very clearly not a graven image, what with not having been graven. In fact, if you tried to grave an inflatable, it would just deflate, wouldn't it?

What about going all the way with an inflatableDonald Trump? I mean, big enough so he can see it from the sky when he passes over Freehold.
That would be all over the news and people could learn that True Christians are supporting Donald to MAGA.
Also, this cannot be confused with worshipping Idols, as he was in The Apprentice, and not in American Idol.
1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the TRUMP of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.

I hope your husband won't think me too forward: I think you are awfully bright for a woman.

I saw an inflatable of Our Donald - it was him as a baby! So cute! What a wonderful idea to celebrate our president by reminding us that he started out as a humble baby, just like our Saviour!
Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?
