Stop Homelessness -
08-24-2023, 07:38 PM
There is so much talk about high rents and people sleeping in the streets. It's time to solve this problem.
Fortunately, there are modern Mayors in this country, one of whom is Mayor of Freehold (ahem). The problem is being solved through good policies. These policies are move the bums out of parks and off of sidewalks. Get them out of old buildings and underpasses. Be relentless. This way, they either get a job and rent a place to live or move out of your city.
City by city we are finding a solution to homelessness. We can thank God we have the resources and skills of good management to solve this problem.

The concern about the homeless is unbiblical and countered by Scripture. It is the rich who need our help. It is for them to see Christ's message and it seems that seeking Salvation is the only answer. The poor will go to Heaven, and what are a few years of mild discomfort compared to an eternity of Paradise?
There will be none of us here who do not recall Luke 16:19-31
19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:
28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Hear hear! The way to deal with homeless is to bus them to other States. Liberals talk as if they have better solutions, well then take all of them. Show us your solution. They can't! Meanwhile our streets are pristine without sidewalks or benches for people to be tempted to sleep on. Half of them are trans anyway, and millionaires, and illegal.

Interesting verse, Pastor. How does the Lazarus here relate to the Lazarus from John 11:1–44?
If it's the same guy, looks like the rich man's ideas were still valid even when he was in hell.

Homeless people smell bad, are an eyesore, bring drugs and alcohol and crime into our neighborhoods, and often turn out to be Communist spies. They think they're so much better than the rest of us that they don't need to get up off their lazy behinds and work for a living. About the only thing they're good for is providing some amusement when we encourage our children to torment them. I honestly don't know who's worse, the homeless or the negroes. And don't get me started talking about homeless negroes!
Mayor Hold and our saintly Freehold Police Department run a tight ship, so you just don't see homeless folks within the city limits. But, when I'm not in Freehold, I carry a taser with me to make sure none of these disease-riddled losers come within 50 feet of me.

I'm sure commie spies exist at all social levels, wherever they are sent. If they've been brainwashed (at home) to work for the enemy they'd be a commie agent rather than a commie spy. One works against the interests of the home nation, while the other (the spy) is supporting homeland aspirations by getting posted abroad (here) to implement seduction tactics, photograph secret submarines, use device like this
"Allow me to light your cigarette." | | "Thank you. I thought you'd never ask." |

and so on. More concerning was a comment in the Mayor's post, as linked: “..expressing frustration with a spate of car robberies, [a San Franciscan] told the San Francisco Chronicle that he wanted to burn down the encampment where the alleged carjacker lives.” Now I don't know much about carjacking beyond the obvious fact that after purloining the thing, it is sold on – possibly to an exporter who sells them in another country. The carjacker gets a very high return, overheads consisting of some shoe leather, an iron bar and the cost of a phone call to the bespeaker, $20 say.
For a random example, Lincoln Navigator @ $100K, which might be sold eventually at half its value, the figures are pretty straightforward. Exporter quadruples outlay after expenses.
FULL PRICE $100,000
SALE PRICE $50,000
BUYS IN AT $10,000
RETURNnet $40,000 OK, there's $10K to play with. Not all of this will go to the carjacker due to shipping costs, probably not much more that some fake vehicle ID and a $1K bribe at the border, so let's call it eleven hundred + the original twenty gives $8,880. Now I just had a quick look and there are houses available in rural locations from even less that that. Bearing in mind the words a spate of, from the excerpt, the bargain basement could be avoided here and at $88,500 (less than ten carjackings) there's quite an OK looking residence 1651 Sq. Ft. needing perhaps a dozen tiles on the roof or slate it looks like, dislodged slightly, with a good sized garden: why not buy it? The list is very extensive – so altogether disappointing. After all, Christians finding nowhere to call home due to popes swarming across Europe like bubonic plague (but more difficult to get rid of) came to America and set about building themselves up. With chisels they hacked rocks into bricks, as disenfranchised persons could do today—just not in a preexisting city—but they don't. Satan is the reason. Prayer is the answer.

I was encouraged today to read about how effective the general public is about self separating themselves into economic classes so each does not have to tolerate the other. A study found that low income and high income people seldom encounter each other. There are exceptions like the restaurant chains Oliver Garden and IHOP where both high income and low can be found at the same time. Why anyone with high standards of hygiene and table manners would want to patronize one of those chains is beyond me.
Cities need to be managed properly. The first priority is to chase out the homeless. Second, low income people need to be isolated so responsible high income people do not have to see or encounter them.
High-income Americans rarely mix with poorer people. Restaurants like Applebee's and Olive Garden are the exception. (msn.com)

I've been thinking how the homeless should be forced to wear uniforms, something like the picture below. Then they wouldn't look quite so crappy when you drive past them. If they all wore something smart with a name tag and tried to be ready to assist then they might be able to get a job.
I really don't see why these people refuse to accept they are the problem with society. Somebody has to do the work - them - that's just how it is. Now make my fries.

Amen, dear Brother Pastor Bathfire! And, we cannot forget that even the warned up about the scourge of vagrants; and, as always, the blessed is right!
Mark 14:7 "For ye have the poor with you always,"
Why, just the other day as I was on my way to the Piggy Wiggly to get some baking supplies for this coming week's McGill Street Ladies' Wednesday Afternoon Bible Study, Prayer Meeting and Tea & Social (I was desperately low on baking powder and buttermilk for my wild blueberry and almond scones), I passed a group of homeless people who had set up tents along the way. What an eyesore that was!
And, then, as I was leaving Daddy's 1950 Packard in the parking lot (and regretting that I had not taken a taxi instead), I noticed this man on the other side of the street:
Well, being the good, lady that I am, I crossed over, reached in my Launer handbag and gave him 50 cents, as a token of good cheer and encouragement. But, what made my blood boil was the fact that he is in this predicament in the first place — and no thanks to Not-my-President Sleepy Joe Burden for putting the economy in such a mess! We would not be seeing any of this unfortunate situation if Burden had not stolen the election from our beloved President Donald Trump; thereby, effectively halting the great progress that our glorious was making under President Trump's superb leadership!

What's worse than all these people dying on the street is snooty liberals in the coastal elite lecturing us from gated communities. These aren't real Americans. Real Americans live in squalor and spend their paycheck on rent instead of feeding the kids. I want to see more like that, striving against the odds that are heavily stacked against them and glorifying the idea of dog-eat-dog competition. Be Best™.

My, yes; this is certainly so true — and so very timely — dear Brother Dr. Toole. And, when I think of "coastal elite", why, that dreadful Nancy Pelousy immediately comes to mind. Look at her: not a care in the world, waving her sinful reprobate flag in a San Francisco parade!
And, nervous Nancy is just one of many well-off people, looking down their long noses at the unfortunates, peering haughtily from their fancy homes with their well-manicured gardens:
As you shall see in the next photo, look at how some poor Americans are living in squalor — in the very same area, and not far from the Pelousy "coastal elite" household!

I recently learned there is something called "Housing Vouchers." People living just fine under a bridge should be grateful we taxpayers paid for the bridge. But they want even better free housing. They can go to some public housing office and get a "voucher." Then, they can take the voucher to a nice hotel, live there and we taxpayers pay for their room.
If you paid for a room in a nice hotel do you want a homeless person moving in next door? The solution to homelessness is to end it.
