More and more, it appears that Joe Biden has an unassailable lead in the 2020 Presidential election, and we must bow to the will of the American people with the Christian grace and humility that we always display here at the Landover Baptist Church.

While we found President Trump's policies usually agreeable--his tax cut and his court nominees were exactly what our country needed--we have always found the man himself to be wanting.

1 Corinthians 9:25 tells us that "every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things" Christian temperance in all things does not mean consorting with (and paying off) pornstars, divorcing twice (so far), lying about your tax returns (and maybe on them), holding the Bible upside down in a photo op, or encouraging your supporters, however well-intentioned they may be, to commit acts of political violence. Donald Trump fell far short of the mark in these matters.

So yes, we voted for him, but it was a hold-your-nose kind of vote, where the choice was between a deeply flawed Donald Trump and a Joe Biden who will encourage the baby killers at abortion clinics. We all lament the fact that we didn't have a decent Christian like Sen. Rick Santorum or Sen. James Inhoff carrying our banner. We all wonder whether Joe Biden has what it takes to lead our nation through a pandemic of Bibilical proportions. But we are confident that we will make it through because we have faith and we can pray.

Finally, Donald Trump has one more attribute that we dislike. Trump is a loser, and we don't like losers. Like Jesus, we like people who win!

I think what Brother Dnow is trying to say is that now is the time to end partisan fighting. Now is the time to honor our traditions and values, to reach across the aisle and compromise. Reign in the deficit for a start. The most serious threat in the country is high taxes. Medicare needs to be curtailed. Democrats need to drop their hard left posturing and come to the table.

That's right. If the Democrat party is willing to meet us 90% of the way, I say we should walk that other 10% and work with them. If the Democrats want to keep Medicare, fine--give us prayer in schools in exchange.

Of course, that doesn't mean we should enable their radical leftist agenda, such as healthcare for everyone, mask mandates, tax increases on wealthy job creators, background checks for purchases of assault rifles, or interracial marriage. These are things Jesus would never approve.

You make good points here, Brother Dnow, but I think some professional analysis is needed before we move on. Why did Donald Trump lose??

First, let's consider Melania. Donald had a DNA test done on Barron. This hints that Melania was perhaps a "problem" for Donald and distracted him from the campaign.

Second, there is the Jewish branch, Ivanka and Jarrod. How many Christians cannot vote for a family responsible for killing Jesus.

Third, there is you Barron himself. There have been numerous news stories saying he is interested in socialism and that he prefers the gender neutral pronoun "they" to he or she. Even though he is but a teenager these are attitudes that may have turned the corner for Biden.

As a full time professional politician I think we need to ponder the things that brought our Godly President down.

Apparently, Trump's (public) spiritual advisor, Paula White, has been televised speaking in tongues.

Now, I understand that I can't fully fathom Pastor Zeke's choice to keep his association with Mr. Trump in the background, but White is merely a woman, after all. What with that deficiency, the speaking in tongues issue just highlights why we need to heed the words of the Apostle Paul.


Women are not meant to teach men or counsel them in spiritual matters. Paula White's presence in Donald Trump's circle of associates put his candidacy in the question mark category.

I must admit, I've sometimes questioned Landover's commitment to the Republican Party, given their occasional straying from a hardline Christian Dominionist platform. True Christian men like Pat Robertson, Pat Buchanan, Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum, and Ted Cruz have, with the exception of Reagan and GWB, have consistently failed to be granted GOP presidential nominations. Unfortunately things like this happens when your leader is not a Catholic. A good example of an almost-perfect Catholic leader would be Charlemagne, who didn't esitated to punish 4500 Brits when they went back to worship a tree. Too bad that he also allowed Joos to stay in Europe without accepting Christ. Anyway, Trump may have done some good things for America (and a fewer ones for the rest of the West) but still, being a Presbyterian is the first step in the staircase to Hell. At least he was still able to keep his presidency more than Salvini's seat in the Italian government.
