Default Day 209. Isaiah 25-27 (NC-17) - 10-07-2009, 09:55 PM

Isaiah 25-27

Isaiah 25

If you remember from our last reading, that there would be people who would be praising the LORD when the entire world was being destroyed, now we get to hear some of their praises.

1 O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

In addition to attempting to destroy the entire world, you've done wonderful things.

2 For thou hast made of a city an heap; of a defenced city a ruin: a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built.

Think back to Sodom and Gomorrah, they were well built and then became a stack of rubble. Exactly which city is Isaiah mentioning? It's unknown, but I'd wager Babylon. Or a city comparable to Babylon, it's the largest most powerful city known to the non-traveling hebe's at the time.

5 Thou shalt bring down the noise of strangers, as the heat in a dry place; even the heat with the shadow of a cloud: the branch of the terrible ones shall be brought low.

God will take down the high... when he does, the remaining people are going to have a blast. This is sort of different than the Left Behind series.

6 And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.

Here, we don't see the remnants of society struggling, they are having a party. They don't care that most of the world has died, they are living it up. They are even drinking "wine on the lees". What is "wine on the lees". Lees is yeast. This wine on lees is wine that is already fermented, but is undergoing some additional aging on a bit of yeast, it makes it LIVING WINE. It's not new wine, that isn't done fermenting yet. It's not old wine that is done aging. It's wine that is old, but is being made new all the time. It doesn't take a lot of yeast to continue the aging process, but just a couple of cells will make a world of difference. Additionally, you aren't going to put crappy wine on lees, it won't make it any better, it's good wine, that's only getting better.

8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.

In the midst of this awesome party, God is still killing people off.

9 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

Waited again means served. It doesn't mean to patiently sit and do nothing.

11 And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst of them, as he that swimmeth spreadeth forth his hands to swim: and he shall bring down their pride together with the spoils of their hands.

God will thrust his hands through the bad people (which is most people) and send them away with a stroke, like the breast stroke; not the freestyle (overhand crawl). God doesn't doggy paddle.

Isaiah 26

1 In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.

That day, is the day the messiah returns (or in the jews perspective, shows up for the first time).

4 Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:

Wow, all caps for LORD JEHOVAH. That means that the author used two names of God back to back. Basically they said "in the God God is everlasting strength".

5 For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust.

Who "them" is, is unknown, but again, it's probably Babylon.

8 Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee.

If history shows anything, it's that conquered gods aren't real. For 6000 years, God has been around along with the hebrews/jews. Babylonian gods and the Babylonian empire are gone. The Persian empire is gone, only a few fringe people worship their gods now. The Egyptian empire is gone, as are their gods. The real God chose the hebrews, that's why they wait; that's why they, and He, are still around.

13 O LORD our God, other lords beside thee have had dominion over us: but by thee only will we make mention of thy name.

14 They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased, they shall not rise: therefore hast thou visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish.

Only the real God has been there from the beginning and will be until the end.

17 Like as a woman with child, that draweth near the time of her delivery, is in pain, and crieth out in her pangs; so have we been in thy sight, O LORD.

Israel has been knocked up and is in labor.

18 We have been with child, we have been in pain, we have as it were brought forth wind; we have not wrought any deliverance in the earth; neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen.

"We have as it were brought forth wind"... Instead of actually giving birth, they just farted. They weren't pregnant, it was just gas.

20 Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.

21 For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

In Egypt, he sent the angel of death. When he goes to destroy the rest of the world, he's going to do it himself.

Isaiah 27

1 In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.

Everyday, scientist are discovering new species. Everyday, animals that were though extinct are found again. Until mankind finds leviathan and dragons again, or for the first time, the messiah won't be coming (back).

2 In that day sing ye unto her, A vineyard of red wine.

Here, Israel is a vineyard. Back in Song of Solomon, Israel was a bride with big titties.

3 I the LORD do keep it; I will water it every moment: lest any hurt it, I will keep it night and day.

Here, God waters the vineyard, in SoS, he made sweet sweet love by the fire with her.

8 In measure, when it shooteth forth, thou wilt debate with it: he stayeth his rough wind in the day of the east wind.

Sounds a bit like the Song of Solomon story again.

This wind is not the farting wind of Isaiah 26.

12 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall beat off from the channel of the river unto the stream of Egypt, and ye shall be gathered one by one, O ye children of Israel.

Once again, we're back to the Song of Solomon.

13 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem.

This seems like it was written after the the release from Assyria, or possibly during that time of being taken away. Oh, and the great trumpet shall be blown... more Song of Solomon.

So what have we learned today?

1. LORD JEHOVAH, they really wanted to emphasize GOD GOD.

2. Wine on lees, is some damn fine wine.

3. God loves Israel like it's a wife or a vineyard. Now, if one spends all their time in their vineyard, they don't have much time for the wife, if one spends all the time with the wife, then the vineyard will go to pot. If you trim your wife's bush, then you combine both gardening and the love of your wife.

I just wanted to point out some parallel readings to point out how stupid all other translations of the Bible are.

Some false versions say that the city is desolate. Other false versions, besides the KJV, correctly say that the city shall be desolate.

Merely for scholarly purposes, look at the major variances on this verse. How can so many people get it wrong?
Isaiah 27:12.

Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.
