It the Earth were as flat as a sheet of paper, we'd have no mountains, when digging a basement, we'd open a gateway in to the fires of Hell. There would be nothing to retain our oceans.

I didn't say it was flat as a piece of paper, I'm saying it's not flat AT ALL. ITS A GLOBE. Changing topics back to the star idea. Let's take your flat earth map and imagine 3 people at the southern most part of the map, the tips of South America (Ushuaia), South Africa, and Australia. Now. Imagine them all looking at the constellation of Crux (look it up if you need to) they are all looking to Antarctica (aka the South celestial pole)
Now answer this, would they all see the same thing at once? (Keep noting that they are looking in different directions, and not the same one)
