Praying -

Does anyone else do it? I find it to be extremely relaxing and a good way to take your mind off the worldthink about Jesus.

We pray all the time.
Tonight, I will pray for you. How do you like that, friend?
I take my orders from Jesus H. Christ, supernatural born US citizen
Be wary of false Kumbaya Christians who use a highlighter and scissors to read the Bible. God wants us to read the lines, not between the lines. False Christians will go to Hell:
Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Asking a Christian to prove God exists is like asking him to prove his phone rings because yours doesn't. Make that call yourself! Dial 0800-get-on-your-knees-and-pray.

Praying and praying are two different things, though.
Praying is bringing your mind to a blank; relaxing it. While praying is a reverent petition made to God.
I see what you did there. That's cool.

Son, what are you yammering about? Are you on drugs?
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Well, yeah, there's "praying" and there's praying. OK.

I'm praying that my woman brings home the right kind of beer after work this time.
Give a man a fish and he can eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he can sit in a boat drinking beer all day while you fool around with his old lady.

That seems to me to be more a case of properly educating your wife. My wife never buys wrong things.

No, no you will not. The dedication of a good woman (who is not your mother), the joy of having sons. The unbridled love of Our Lord. These are things you will never have unless you are married.

Well I try to not blame her to much because she is legally blind. It's hard to pick beer out of the cooler when you cant see it.

Why don't you pray for her to get her sight back? Matthew 6:6 "But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly." Luke 18:27 "And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God."

Oh I would, however I feel it is beyond that point. She has glass eyes. Plus I'm already preoccupied praying night and day for her morbid obesity to disappear.

If you are in doubt about God's unlimited abilities then your faith is to weak to be helped. All this is your fault!

Hmm, Maybe you are right. I will try harder. It's those bad old Catholic habits that I have trouble shying away from.

I see what you did there. You tried to slip in your worthless Buddhist notions and you didn't think anyone would notice! Well, I'm on to you, boy. You can't trick me with your college semantics.
Praying is about God and if you can't think of Him when you're praying, then you're probably asleep at the wheel.
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

I think you are confusing prayer with meditation. Meditation is as you said, bringing your mind to a blank and relaxing it. What you forgot to add is opening your mind to satan, getting possessed by evil spirits, and consuming large quantities of tofu.
