The whole reason why the UK is collapsing economically is because of the socialist minimum wage. Just a few years ago, my company did a world-wide evaluation of competitiveness to find out which countries offered the best investment climate. To my no great surprise, the UK and the rest of socialist Europe came nowhere close to being competitive. We found that for just one hour of labor, we were required to pay a lazy Brit almost as much as it costs to hire a Chink prisoner for a month!
In addition to extravagant salaries, communist UK laws set limits on how many hours a day an employee can be required to work. While our Chink employees put in an honest day's work of 18 hours for an honest day's pay of three cups of dogfood, Euroweenie countries demand overtime pay for anything over eight hours a day, and most won't let anybody work more than 12 hours per shift. Furthermore, UK "workers" want weekends and holidays off, plus paid vacations!
The high wages and short work hours are already deal breakers, but to make it worse they got Obamacare over there in the UK. In China, we got a much cheaper healthcare system for employees who get too sick to work:

Now in fairness to the UK, we've got much the same problem in the USA. Fortunately, thanks to privatized prisons run by my company, we are making progress at bringing jobs back to America.

Thanks to recent advances in technology such as GPS tracking and radio-controlled shock collars, I can picture a day in the not too distant future where the majority of American workers learn "reform through labor" as they call it in China. It will be a humane "prison without walls." In fact, we no longer call them "prisoners" but rather "associates." Wal-Mart associates are already learning the virtues of hard work, while enjoying the benefits of Freedom™. Pretty soon it will be everybody (except of course, the 1% who are employed as Management), creating shareholder value for investors in my company.
Associate labor - just another example of a great public-private partnership! A win-win for America and free enterprise!
