Introduction -
05-25-2014, 02:52 AM
I was raised to be christian. At around the age 14, I came to the conclusion that there is something off about the whole idea of religion. Now, I can safely say that I am completely atheist. There are over a thousand religions on planet earth and about all of them have the same concept. Every religion claims to be the right religion and every other religion is wrong. They can't all be right with this claim, so they all must be wrong. The stories in the bible sounds like something someone on drugs would say. Religion has caused more harm in the world than anything else. All religions on earth should be done away with some society as a whole can move forward.
I support gay marriage and equal rights for everyone.

That is amazingly tolerant of you.

So nice that you are interested in God's Favorite Forum. Your statement that everything must be wrong if they are not all right is a fallacy called 'false dichotomy' in logic. If there is a class of children trying to get the right answer to 2+2 and the results vary being 5, 5, 6, 2, 3, 4, 5... they are obviously not all right but we know very well there can be a right answer somewhere, too. There can be a correct answer in the midst of many wrong ones. We at the LBC have it, actually, and are happy to assist you to the correct path to GOD!
You seemed to have no favorite verses in the Bible yet. Regarding this issue you could start with Exodus 20:5 and gradually work your way to Matthew 22:37.

I must say I am a bit worried about this. Not surprised, though... Why should gay 'marriage' be mandatory for everyone even in your skewed world?

I was researching on writing with the left hand and I happened to stumble onto a thread on this website. After reading through a lot of posts on this forum, I decided to join.

Science and religion can be both bad and good depending on the purpose. Science to better understand our surroundings or to blow stuff up. Religion to try and live a good lifestyle or to preach hate. (Westboro)

Dear Brethren and Sisters in Christ! Is it not wonderful that after spending just a tiny amount of time in our midst this young lady is already reconsidering her initially exclusively hostile attitude to religion.
God is indeed mighty (Exodus 10:19). In that manner He can eventually drive away also disbelief. With a purpose: SALVATION!
It's good but also sad to bring up the fallen Westboro church. They have some healthy ideas but they are nowadays mostly dedicated to the liberal agenda...
Glory to Jesus!
Yours in Christ,
Elmer

Well how nice! Do you wander into various vegan forums and tell them how you enjoy grilling meat in the summer? Do you barge into various style forums and explain how you refuse to wear your sandals without socks? You atheists are always so rude and self-centered. I wish I could say I'm surprised.
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Friend, I am overjoyed that you are finally here, ready to give up your long drug-fueled nightmare of anonymous anal sex and death metal discothèques. Praise Jesus that He sees the inherent saveablity of even the lowest of the low!

Re: Introduction -

One the question of my favorite bible verses:
Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
I also like the story of Cain and Abel. I like to test people sometimes to see which one they are. I make up a story saying I'm going to do something, and this something leads to me improving myself. I try to judge their physical reaction (facial reaction, changes in posture), and their verbal response. If it will be, "go ahead, I wish you the best of luck and hope you succeed in your endeavor, or "thats never going to work and you are going to fail." I read the bible to learn wisdom from the stories.
Elmer G. White:
Why did you assume I was a young lady. I'm a young male. We know that 2+2=4. That is an established fact. There is no and, or, or maybe to a math question. With religion, the Christians are claiming they are right, the Muslims claim the same, the Jews claim they are the one chosen people, and so on for all of the religions. Everyone can't stake the same claim to a piece of land. I still have my same hostile attitude towards religions. I was pointing out that if someone truly believes in a religion and that following that religion

That is a two way street. There are Mormons, Christians (many denominations) that show up uninvited to homes and say that if you don't believe this then you are going to burn. Would you rather me pretend to be a devout Christian like most people, or state what I truly believe.

Denying the existence of God is not unbelief but an exercise in self-deception. You may know things, but you cannot account for anything you know. Arguing against God's existence would be on par with arguing against the existence of air, breathing it all the while. You use the universal, immaterial, unchanging laws of logic, mathematics, science, and absolute morality in order to come to rational decisions, but you cannot account for them. These laws are not the only way God has revealed himself to you, but they are sufficient to show the irrationality of your thinking, and expose your guilt for denying Him.
There is a reason that you deny the existence of God and it has nothing to do with proof. I can show this to you. Do you think that you can continue to deny God because surely somewhere, sometime, a philosopher or scientist will come up with an explanation for universal, immaterial, unchanging laws apart from God?' Did you ever try to come up with an alternate explanation on your own?
Hoping that an alternate explanation for universal, immaterial, unchanging laws can someday be found apart from God, is a blind leap of faith, or wishful thinking. Isn't it interesting that this is exactly what professed unbelievers accuse Christians of?
Please examine the real reason why you are running from God. It is my prayer that God will open your eyes and change your heart so that you may be saved from your sin, embraced by His ferocious love, and that you will tithe robustly immediately using the Paypal button at the bottom of this page.
Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:
Hypocrites (Matthew 24:51), The Unforgiving (Mark 11:26), Homosexuals (Romans 1:26, 27), Fornicators (Romans 1:29), The Wicked (Romans 1:29), The Covetous (Romans 1:29), The Malicious (Romans 1:29), The Envious (Romans 1:29), Murderers (Romans 1:29), The Deceitful (Romans 1:29), Backbiters (Romans 1:30), Haters of God (Romans 1:30), The Despiteful (Romans 1:30), The Proud (Romans 1:30), Boasters (Romans 1:30), Inventors of evil (Romans 1:30), Disobedient to parents (Romans 1:30), Covenant breakers (Romans 1:31), The Unmerciful (Romans 1:31), The Implacable (Romans 1:31), The Unrighteous (1Corinthians 6:9), Idolaters (1Corinthians 6:9), Adulterers (1Corinthians 6:9), The Effeminate (1Corinthians 6:9), Thieves (1Corinthians 6:10), Drunkards (1Corinthians 6:10), Reviler (1Corinthians 6:10), Extortioners (1Corinthians 6:10), The Fearful (Revelation 21:8), The Unbelieving (Revelation 21:8), The Abominable (Revelation 21:8), Whoremongers (Revelation 21:8), Sorcerers (Revelation 21:8), All Liars (Revelation 21:8)

I don't think you've understood Brother Elmer's post #5, dear. Let me try again, in more simple terms. Just because the Muslims, Jews, Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, Cathlicks, Buddhists and Tierra del Fuego fire-worshipers are wrong, that doesn't mean there is no right answer out there. And when you stumbled in here, like a lost sheep, you found it. Well done!
Luke 15:10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
Now let's address this point:

Once again you are confused. If you have issues with "other" denominations of Christians (just a tip, dear - these are False Christians), Mormons, Agnosticks and the like knocking on your door, the right thing to do is to take it up with them. If anyone from Landover had shown up uninvited at your home, then it would be fine to come here and attack us. But have they? Honestly?
So why are you here and not on some JW or Mormon site? It is my hope that God has sent you here.
I will pray for you.
