A diverse coalition of more than 100 "clergy" gathered in a Southeast Washington "church" yesterday to show their support for same-sex marriages in the District.

The "clergy," who have formed a group called D.C. Clergy United for Marriage and Equality, plan to challenge the efforts of a more God-fearing group of pastors who are pushing for a referendum on same-sex "marriage." Last month, the D.C. Council voted to recognize same-sex marriages performed in other states, and some council members plan to introduce a bill to allow the marriages to be performed in the District. Some members of Congress have said they will attempt to block same-sex marriage from becoming legal in the District, in order to keep elected liberal activist council members from denying District residents their democratic right to have a Congressman from somewhere else decide for them what they think.

It is best even for medical professionals such as myself to stay out of breathing and spitting range of these infected individuals, as the AIDS can make even the most docile twink queer into a raging demon of hate and violence.

With all due respect mam, I understand that it's not a choice that they make. I respect gay men that live a decent live w/ their husband or boyfriends. The problem I have are these bathhouses which I find to be unnecessary and disgrace the decent gays out there. My suggestion to close down these bathhouses is angering many gay men. That's why you see their attacking me. Suggesting to close these down is like asking them to take their lives.!
