Sister Mary,
This Wickercult is in my opinion very silimar to a James Joyce novel. Extremely long, lacking in structure and deficient in spiritual content. The post by the Irish Fairy reminded me of a beautiful verse. Compact, straightforward, filled with promise of Salvation.
Matthew 6:7
But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Let us pray:
Please, dear Jesus,
Take me into your Heavenly Bosom today.
Thank you for your stern descipline.
Amen!
Yours in Christ,

I did have a walk with Jesus, once.
I went to a Catholic school, and the road went downhill from there on. I had questions in my religious classes that no one could answer or would answer, and everyone told me to repent my sins and go to church every day or else I would burn in hell. And as I grew older and more aware of the world, it disagreed with a lot of my political views. This not only confused me but frightened me so badly as a kid that I didn't want to go to church again. I viewed myself as a good person, and didn't think that because I had questions or doubts that I should suffer eternal fire.
They told me to open my heart to Jesus, that it would be like surgery. That it would hurt, but I'd be saved in the end. So I tried really hard. I read the Bible, I prayed every morning and night, memorized my prayers in Latin, imagined myself opening up to God and Jesus and tried to let them know that I was ready for "surgery." But nothing ever happened. I never felt any better, only abandoned and sad. I began to feel like they either didn't care or they weren't there at all.
So I don't have a church to go to. I now view the woods, nature, as my church. Because when I walk into the woods, or anywhere outside, really I feel happy and safe. I feel a kind energy there that calms me and brings me joy. I thought to myself "how come I never feel that in church or when I pray?" Now before you go on saying that I hated church or hated God, I don't and never will. I simply felt emptiness. Nothing was there. And I felt sad. No hatred or anger at all. And there still is none of that. But isn't God supposed to make people feel happy?
So I eventually discovered Witches and Wiccans. At first I thought all the stereotypes, too, until I researched it. Then it sounded like something that would make me happy. So I tried it, and found great peace and love, something that the church never gave me. That's my tale.
Anyway, I don't have a favorite Bible verse, but I do have a favorite story. And it's a very famous one. The Good Samaritan. It tells that there are good and generous people out there among the selfishness, and even today I follow those moral guidelines and do my best to help others, no matter who they are.
And as for spreading good news, no matter what religion you are, I find that spreading the word is rather tiresome. If someone is meant to find that path, they will find it on their own.
1Corinthians 5:9-11
I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.
But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

I'm pretty sure this was a compliment, so I'll take it as one. Thank you very much, I do appreciate being compared to a beautiful verse. <3 If not a compliment, then sorry I offended you. And I can agree with you, sometimes the Witch or Wiccan culture can be very loosely defined and confusing. It's sort of supposed to be, because you're supposed to define your own path, not follow someone else's unless you're in a coven. And even each coven does their own thing. There is no Bible or Book for Witches or Wiccans for us to follow. We follow our hearts and instincts.
And there are multiple kinds of Witches and Wiccans. For example, I'm a Green Witch (no my skin is not green). I protect the earth and live with it, as a part of it. White Witches focus on healing other people, Kitchen Witches focus on the hearth and home, and so on and so on.
And let me just clarify something real quick: Witches and Wiccans are two different things. Wiccans use witchcraft as a religion; they worship the spirits of nature or Gods and Godesses. Witches, though this is not a rule, are just spell-makers. They don't usually have a religion to follow. This is much more loosely defined.

Not really. Wiccan are just another name for Gerald Garners white supremacy fantasies through his Freemason lodge and his obsession about Thule society.

That doesn't mean that they're true. Do you know what an appeal to antiquity is? Also, IIRC, their point about history was directed to the fluffy bunnies who claim to follow the old ways when they actually don't follow "old ways" that existed before the middle of the last century.

It's not a misspelling. Technically "magic" is the misspelling because "magick"is the traditional spelling.

Until you've established that it works at all, they don't need to know how it "works." By the way, you've actually demonstrated their point.

It is all about focusing energy towards your end goal, and most believe in the Threefold Law, which states that what one sends out, one shall receive back threefold. Also, negative energy should never be sent, as it is said to not work at all, and just immediately return back to you. I personally like casting spells of protection, giving charms for headache relief, that sort of thing.

You have evidence for all of that, right? By your own logic, a book asserting that it's true doesn't count.

70. Refuses to read God's Holy Words, the Bible.
A valuable, historical work that has some very good moral guidelines. The thing is, like most scriptures, it can be translated in many different ways. It can be used for hate and it can be used for love. Like anything else, people can use it to abuse others. It was also written by men, and by Christian logic, men are sinners.
|
You've stepped into the minefield, pal. They have Bible verses memorized to show that once people are saved, they don't sin, and that their deity has preserved the words of the Bible.
Quote:
And what is an example of sin? Dishonesty. Men can be dishonest and are so great extents. Therefore I don't believe the Bible can be believed word for word, that's why I left it. I have nothing solid to follow, so I follow my heart and emotions, which led me to nature.
|
Why are your heart and your emotions reliable? By your own logic, other people have followed their hearts and their emotions and have reached conclusions directly contrary to yours.

There is a difference between feminist and feminazi. The literal dictionary definition of a feminist is someone who believes in equal rights for both men and women. Feminazi's just discriminate men, which I don't agree with. All i believe in is peace, equality, and harmony between the two sexes.

There is a difference between a feminist and a feminazi. One exists, and one sprang forth from the fevered brow of Rush Limbaugh. "Feminazi" is just a slur used to discredit feminism. Are there a few who hate men? Sure, but that's like saying every Christian is Fred Phelps.

Which false gods would those be? Also, which kind of Wickedan are you, the kind that worships Satan directly, or the kind that was dumb enough to believe the ridiculous garbage invented by Gerald Gardner in order to get gullible young women naked?

Oh, I see our Wickedan defender is an Alaskan. That explains a lot since he is probably one of their dope fiends. Despite having less than a million people, Alaska leads the nation in dope fiends. Alaskans also lead the way when it comes to rape, especially when it comes to raping little children. No doubt most of this is the result of Swedes and Russians interbreeding with the already inbred drunken Eskimo. Oh, mercy me, I almost forgot about the drunken Eskimo! For you see, Alaska is almost the biggest in that as well. Yessir, Alaska takes second place, right behind New Mexico, when it comes to alcohol related deaths!
Alaska is truly the cesspool of America, so it comes as no surprise that a false god cultist of a make believe religion would come from there.

Pagans have been around far longer that Jesus was alive. Wicca is merely a branch just as how Baptist is a branch of Christianity. In the end we are all human we are all the same. Also my god is Horus the god of protection and the sun.

Horus is an Egyptian false god. You claim to be a Wiccan, not a Neo-Pagan. Make up your mind.

No, Wicca is a made-up New Age religion which combines random stuff from random epochs and geographical areas. Pagan religions (which were many, hence your comparison to Christianity is a failed done) were rather narrow geographically.

Hello again, Jimjams. Do you even know what Wicca is? I'm asking because Egyptian mythology is not part of the Wicca religion.
Whichever religion you do decide to follow, it will be useful to familiarize yourself with its teaching, just to know what you are getting into.

I suspect the poor thing is dyslexic as well as suffering from fetal alcohol syndrome. From her description of 'Horus', it seems a puppy has started following her around. Being dyslexic, she spells dog as god.

It is a very reasonable hypothesis, Mr. Des. I've read about many religions and I've never heard of a god stalking a person in the way Jimjams desribes it. However, a dog would fit that description perfectly!

Dear addled friend. While you are not a Christian, it is also fair to understand your limited capacity for knowledge. I'll pray for you.
Trees deposit leaves, which have to picked up. Trees fall on houses, which cause damage, often late at night, during storms. Sap drips off them and ruins the paint on cars. They block balloon satellite reception.
Cats smell. They do the work of Satan. They smother babies.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
