Hello ARCS,
Why do you think gays are sick and in need of a doctor? In my humble opinion that is a horrible thing to say. The Christians on this forum want to help gays to come to Jesus, sometimes they may use uncomfortable verses from the Bible but they believe they can save them from Hell. What is your excuse to think gays are sick?
With cautious regards,

Thank you for taking an interest and helping me to learn about your game. I wonder if it may not be such a threat as I'd first thought? While I'm thinking about that, perhaps you missed my earlier post: I'm sure that just as you'd like to know if something's wrong with your game you'll see that I'd like to know if there's something wrong with my religion.
Thanking you in anticipation.

Show us, using verses from the Bible, how we are disobeying direct commands of the Lord. There isn't a thread on this forum where we don't preach the need to obey Christ by obeying the totality of God's Word.

You see, the Pharisees opposed Jesus for the most part. We promote Him as the Living Word.

First of all, it's "they're" not "their" and if you spent any amount of time on this website, you would see that we love to spout, declare and proclaim Bible verses! It is the ground of our being that we are here to share God's Word with the world. People who join us in doing so have not "fallen to our level" they have lifted themselves up as beacons of the Truth™.
Finally, allow me to note that I have included actual Bible verses in my response, whereas your post contains one, non-contextual paraphrase in which you attempt to decry us as "not as holy as thou". (See, I can paraphrase, too.) If you mean to best us in the battle to open hearts and minds to True Christianity™, you are going to have to do much better than that.

Because (drumroll, please) ... that's what Jesus calls them in the Bible. That's what He calls anyone that doesn't worship Him for being Him.

Gee, thanks for sharing HALF the story and pretending it's the full thing. Let's look at what else Jesus said (according to the Bible):
Mark 6:11 " And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city."

Ok, just where in the Bible does God tell the faithful to "develop their own opinions"? I must have missed that bit.

I don't think making your son the most sheltered child on the planet will help him fend off Satanists when they inevitably come for him. instead, you should teach him how to fend off Satanists. also, you have obviously not done your research, mainly because you butchered about every name in the game. I do not want to waste anymore brain cells reading this trash, but I will tell you that nowhere in the game is there evidence of Symetra putting you in hell. Also, how do you think that reaper is the best character in the game? Please stop poisoning our brains with this trash and do your research. I'm sure as a minister you can keep Satanism away from your brain and take the risk of doing your research. Also, I found out when you are losing an argument, you ban the person.

The word you mean is "advice" and calling the judgments of the Bible "filth" could be construed as persecution. But I will hold fast to these beautiful and encouraging words of The Lord Jesus Himself:
Matthew 5:44
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
And these words, too, penned by Paul, chosen of the Lord, revealed by Almighty God to those who would accept His Word:
Romans 12:14
Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
I don't mind telling you, some of your words were hurtful. But Jesus told us to turn the other cheek, so if you want to keep slapping, all I can do is share God's Holy and Perfect Wisdom with you until you see His Truth™ the way that I do. I may be black and blue, but I am determined to help you see that beam in your eye, because I am a loving person.
I truly hope that you can find the peace which fills me, and let go of your hate.

Now, don't get me wrong here, I completely understand the offense taken from the game's satanic references, such as the Devil & Imp character costumes for Mercy, however, I can't help but feel as if some people are reading into Overwatch as if it were the Holy Bible, and are looking for metaphors and symbols where there are none. I've played the game for quite a while, and am a Christian myself, but I've never felt that the game has tried to lead me to sin. It's just mindless, stupid violence, not unlike games like Call of Duty, League of Legends, and Halo.
I honestly don't understand where people are drawing the parallel between these seemingly unrelated things, I mean, Blizzard itself is a company with people from numerous ethnic backgrounds and religions, many of which are Christian, and I'd highly doubt that any God-fearing man or woman working on this game would actively try and sabotage the minds of our youths like I hear many people claiming. Quite the contrary, I'd say that it seems many of them just wanted to create a fun game, and it's quite clear they've accomplished this due to its rising popularity.

Dear Person,
These (possibly) unsuspecting people are not necessary aware of the evil they are helping to promote.
Luke 23:34
Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
However, evil is evil regardless of the (possibly) innocent intentions of these people. They have by their own choice joined the gaming industry instead of using their hours preaching the Truth™ of Jesus, so ignorance is no excuse.
1 Thessalonians 5:17
Pray without ceasing.
In fact, it is been told that many Nazis "did not know" what was taking place and they were "only following orders". Still, they caused great evil by conforming to the ways of the World.
Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Now you know!
Yours in Christ,
Elmer

But what evil exactly have they promoted? Besides wasting time that could be spent doing holy deeds, they've simply created a game for people to enjoy. I cannot think of a single evil deed that was caused by someone being exposed to Overwatch, let alone someone having their faith shaken by the game. I honestly would argue that someone who sees the game and questions if the intent of it was to sway Christians to Satan, is just someone over-analyzing the situation, as I've asked the people I play with and not once have they felt that their religious views have been challenged or led astray.

In addition to the perils described in the Opening Post, you yourself express here one of the most pivotal points that really needs to be assessed. How come you seem to dismiss this argument of yours as insignificant? It is actually one of the best points against this game that anyone has mentioned.
Romans 13:11
And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
NOW is the time to stop all gaming and concentrate on Eternity!
Mark 13:33
Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
It's time to watch and pray and not to play hazardous games. Thank you for reminding us of this. I'm praying that you also answer your call yourself!
Yours in Christ,
Elmer

Re: Overwatch: Overdue For A Ban! -

I've heard the argument before that all distractions from god, such as video gaming, are useless and should be abandoned, but I can't help but point to the psalmist who wrote 127, particularly verse 2.
"In vain you rise early
and stay up late,
toiling for food to eat—
for he grants sleep to those he loves."
I wont take this out of context, because Verse 1 does explicitly say that without God there is no point to our actions, but I am a man who frequently keeps the word of God, and praises him, and I can't say that my works have been fruitless.
I've worked my job for many years, and I've earned my bread and my respite through my worldly action, and God has given me my time to pursue rest of the body and mind, and I find this rest in literal sleep, but also in my idle distractions, and if God hadn't willed for me to enjoy the luxuries I have, he wouldn't have allowed me to get them in the first place, and I'd still be toiling for my basic needs.
(Thank you for your replies, also, this has been a healthy and informative discussion. )

Except, you already did.
The entire point of that Psalm is that anything done for any reason other than the glorification of God (including having children), is vanity, and therefore pointless for the person of faith.
Do you really think that video games are an exception?

First off, this our forum. We get to ask the questions. But if you want to know why we are criticizing the game, you could read the OP.
So tell us more about yourself. Where do you go to church? What's your favorite part of the Bible? How did you find God? How do you think He speaks to you?
