Happy Birthday, Pim Pendergast! -
08-31-2019, 03:05 PM
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Y'know Pim, thinking of you, unaccountably, made me think of some preacher chap who said
"Faith goes up the stairs that love has built and looks out the windows which hope has opened."
Which always made me think that the window must not have been cleaned for some time, otherwise there would have been no need to open it.
Some times, it is useful to see things through a dirty window, so that the detail of the overview does not confuse and cause questions to arise.
I'm not sure why this relates to your birthday, or whether birthdays have any place in faith, but Happy Birthday anyway.

Thank you, everyone, for the kind birthday wishes. Yes, I'm another year closer to glory, to when my my death rattle will herald my exit from this world of sin and suffering and my entry into a new and everlasting life with Christ. Or to when Jesus will catch me up to heaven so that He can visit tribulation upon the unbelievers. Either way, all I can say is, "May the Lord hasten the day!"

And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Inspired by the LORD GOD:
The Legend of Pim Pendergast
by BrotherLarry & Jesus
I'll try to sing it clear and I'll try to not go fast
My song concerns the legend of a man named Pendergast
Though his name seems rather odd
He loves men and he loves God
Let's go back, way back, and resurrect the past.
He was at a club in Freehold on that rainy night,
All the stars were shining in the cloudless sky
As the thunder crashed and roared
Pim was feeling kind of bored
That's when Ol' Man Jim came in and he was high.
CHORUS:
Oh Pim, don't fight with Jim
No one ever wins when Jim does battle with you
Oh Pim, just ignore him
Your loving wife is waiting home to kiss you.
Jim called Pim a Catholic and pulled his weapon out
The women shrieked and men began to scatter
Brother Hutchins tried to stop it
He yelled, "Jim, you better drop it!"
Pim said, "I can handle this rather uncomfortable situation that has begun to unravel in this club, no need to scream and shout and make loud noises that might upset someone's enjoyment of being out at the club on this rainy evening before the fourth of July."
(Spoken): Pim was never good at fitting words into a proper rhythm, but he sure could dance.
Pim grabbed Jim's old 38 and ripped it from his hands
Jim went down when shots rang out and Pim was sad
Though he was in danger there
He knew Lisa would despair
That's his wife's name, Lisa, see, you understand.
(Spoken): Jim's, not Pim's, wife was Lisa. And she was a God-fearing woman with large faith.
At the trial, the judge said Pim you shouldn't have killed him
Pim said, "Yes your honor, I know I made a foolhardy decision that has upset many people, not only in Freehold, but in surrounding counties where Jim had a large, Christian family that attended services where they worshipped the Lord with all their hearts, but as you know, a man has to decide whether to take flight or stand and fight and it's incredibly obvious which route I took. How's the wife and kids, Judge?"
The judge said "Fine, thank you."
And he said "I'll make my decision in ten minutes. That ok?"
See, the judge wasn't good at making words fit either.
(Spoken): The courtroom was filled with anxiety as the anxious people remembered how good and kind the entire Pendergast family was. Why, they even helped feed the poor in Des Moines every other Thanksgiving when they weren't vacationing in Cannes or Stuttgart or Melbourne. When the judge entered the courtroom again, he said, "I'm not going to charge you, Pim. I'm going to declare you innocent and send you home."
(Continued spoken): And the events of that day were not spoke of again. Much. But at the time of Pim's birthday, some unthinking fool brings up the whole thing and it gets a second wind with nosey ol women and contrary men running their mouths when all they should be saying is, "Happy Birthday, Mr. Pendergast."
(Repeat Chorus)
Proverbs 21:31 KJV 1611:
“The horse is prepared against the day of battell: but safetie is of the Lord.”
Lord, may I serve my equine brothers and sisters just as I do my fellow man. Amen and Amen

Well, bless my soul, dear Great-Grandbaby Brother Larry:
That is a most amazing song. Goodness me, you certainly are the talented one! I can almost hear my beloved Roy Rogers & Dale Evans singing this, although the rhythm IS a bit choppy, and the tempo could use an adjustment -- but that's just small potatoes. Still, nevertheless, it's a lovely example of how our continues to bless and to inspire you in all that you do. And, for that, we are all most grateful to !
Romans 12:6 " Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us".
A blessed day to you, darling Great-Grandbaby Brother Larry,
Lovingly, Granny Isabella
