Re: I accepted Mr Luke's marriage proposal -

Ladies of Landover,
I am feeling a tad down. Mr Luke is up in the Kimberley region at Brother James' diamond mine and I am feeling like a solo mum down here looking after his three boys.
Sister Rebekkah tells me that I am doing a good job with the children. We have got ourselves in to a routine. I am not sure that Matthew, the 8 month old, though really understands the importance of giving thanks to Jesus for the food he blesses us with before we eat. He seems to think that as soon as the plate is on the tray of his high chair he should have a spoonful of food in his mouth. In fact he cries if I make him give thanks to Jesus. I even tried singing our prayers but that didn't seem to help either. Because Matty is not my biological child I am reluctant to use physical discipline - even tho I have Mr Luke's permission to do so.
Potty training for mark (aged 2) has gone totally haywire. I think he misses his Daddy. So he is back in nappies fulltime. We will keep persevering.
John (aged 4) is a pleasure. We made a Noah's Ark card to send to Mr Luke today. I cut the animals out and Johnboy coloured them in and then we pasted it to some card. And we talked about how God sent the floods to kill everyone because they had been evil. But that he saved Noah and his wife and a boy and girl animal of every kind. Johnny was a bit worried about God causing another flood. Particularly when it started raining this evening. He seemed very frightened to go to sleep. But we prayed that Jesus would keep us all safe. He knows that God only kills sinners.
Of course I don't have as much time on the internet now - being a fulltime mum. But I am managing to spend 10 minutes 6 or so times a day in the prayer closet. I am a little behind in my personal bible study as I am spending more time reading biblical stories that I can teach the boys. But it is all good.
2 Chronicles 7:14
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land Australia.

Are you not going to have him confused about your fairy tale?
Genesis 7
2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that [are] not clean by two, the male and his female.
3 Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.

Oh Sister Charli! I understand your concerns, but I do have to say, you knew the deal when you accepted the proposal!
Remember too, this union is a result of Jesus working in the most fantastic of ways! How else can Brother Luke, being miraculously placed before you, and you he, in BOTH your times of need, be explained? Of course that was a rhetorical question as God's ways are never to be literally questioned!

Gosh you must be doing something right if Sister Rebekkah is singing your praises! She is a lovely woman, but can be quite..shall we say.. blunt when new mothers are doing things wrong.
As you have been given disciplinary rights over these children, I don't think you should hold back with this Matthew. You ARE their mother now. I think it is about time you had a good read through proverbs to KNOW exactly what God commands on this matter:
Proverbs 13:24
He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes .
Proverbs 22:15
Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.
Proverbs 23:13
Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die .
Proverbs 23:14
Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.
Proverbs 29:15
The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame .
It is NEVER too early to start beating righteousness into them.

Better to keep him in diapers for now I suppose as not doing so will only give you more cleaning duties and even less time for personal Bible Study.

He sounds like he is coming along well enough in his Bible understanding. Just to let you know too, I have a vast array of Scripture story boards, coloring books and toys left over from my Sunday School teaching days which will help your situation along with this young John; so much so, him being frightened of the Flood will be the least of his worries! There are so many other things he has to fear and MUST fear to appreciate just how much God loves us. If you like, I can get them O/nighted to you as they are all just sitting in a box in the storage room.

Down here my sins forgiven,
Up there a home in heaven
Praise God, That's the way for me!!

Here is a good trick, call it target practice, they sell small bullseyes to float in the toilet and the young man can aim at it. I know what your thinking, no targets at your local store, right! well float a piece of cereal and use it as a target, cheerios and fruitloops are the best but don;t try it if they are a wheetabix eaters.
1 Chronicles 16:15
Be ye mindful always of his covenant; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations ... an everlasting covenant.
Proverbs 30:5,6: Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

Sister Charli,
I know you have a llot on your mind but I thought I would share this textbook entry in case you never had ''the talk''.I hope you find it useful and informative.

Yes. She has been a God send to me. Praise Jesus. Are you aware that her oldeest daughter, Mary, is expecting a baby in December? It will be John and Rebekkah's first grand son child.Mary and Joe have only been married seven months so they really have been blessed.
Oh yes please Sister Phebe. That would be fabulous. I would treasure them. The boys will of course be home schooled and scripture is much more important than reading and writing at this age.

Brother B.A.D.
That is so funny. I got a ping pong ball and drew a face of our female self confessed atheist lesbian Prime Minister on it and floated it in the toilet bowl.
John, aged 4 has been toilet trained for a long time but he thought it a ton of fun piddling on her. And he is a great role model for his younger sibling. So I think we are on to a good thing here.
Thanks you for your help and also that great article on wifely duties.
It is now only 29 more sleeps until the big day. My Mum died many years ago so I never got the mother/daughter talk but having devoted my life to looking after Daddy until his death I am sure that my cooking, cleaning and household chores are acceptable to Mr Luke. It is just the marital stuff I am a little unsure of so that article was very informative.
What is "congress" tho?

I had trouble getting John to eat dinner tonight.
I had been teaching him this afternoon the story about Jonah and the whale. We had a lot of fun drawing pictures of whales with a man inside his tummy. John is only 4 but he is very good at art.
But then I cooked the children fish fingers for dinner and John was concerned that there might be some human remains in them and it was cannibalism. Not that he used that word but he seemed appalled that he might be eating Jonah and not just the fish. I could not find a google pic to show him that fish have 10 fingers and 10 toes and therefore fish fingers were quite OK to eat as Jonah was in the whale's tummy not anywhere near his fingers. But he still declined dinner.
And then he had a freak out at bath time.

10 more sleeps before I become Mrs Luke Brown.
I am soooo worried about the whole wedding night thing. I have never shared a bed with anyone. Luke tells me that because he already has the three boys it is not important that we are "intimate". But I have been researching Christian wife bedtime activity sites. I found this one but it is not yet active.

That sounds funny. Why would you want to take a toy to bed. That is only for little children and babies.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth
Proverbs 19:25 Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
Ezekiel 16:14 And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.
Proverbs 6:25 Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.
Genesis 24:16 And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.
Song of Solomon 1:15 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes.

They could be Sister Charli. I wonder why it is on a spring. Would it to see if the bed is rocking from something vibrating.

I really do not know Sister Lisa.
I will ask Luke after we are lawfully married in the sight of God and let you know.

It must be a Satan-warning system, as the only thing that could make a Christian's couple's bed shake during.... unpleasantness would be demons

It must for something good. Jesus looks like he is looking up to God and asking for a blessing for the goodness.

Hello Lycia,
and thank you for your reply. Is it really that "unpleasant" to make little soldiers for Christ?
I know Luke already has his three darling boys who so tragically lost their mother so there is really no need for us to try for more, but I kinda think it would be nice if we had a little daughter so that she could also produce little soldiers for Christ eventually.
I have been warned that marital intimacy can be very painful and that I will bleed the first time even though it is not menstra time, but I am kinda looking forward to God joining Luke and myself together in a holy Christian union.

Well Mrs. Charli, I am happy to give you any advice I can.
It will hurt at first, but if your Luke does God's duty correctly then afterwards it will only be slightly unpleasant, but it can be a great time to think about any cleaning you can do the next day, what to cook for breakfast in the morning, or your favorite bible passages!
You will notice something is wrong if you experience ANY happiness other than a satisfaction at making little Christian soldiers. This is Satan trying to possess your ladybits, as I have learned. I suggest thinking of something extremely unpleasant if this happens, like any atheists or left-wingers you may know of. Whatever you do don't panic! It should only last a few minutes at most
I hope this has been helpful to you

Very very helpful Lycia. I already have concerns that because Luke has three boy childs I might spend those intimate minutes praying to Jesus for a daughter for us. I know these fleeting thoughts come from the devil and I should not even be thinking them but I never ever thought that I would marry - having devoted my life to looking after my Daddy who recently went to join Jesus.
I am 47 years of age now and Luke is 49. I do pray that Jesus gives us a little one but if He chooses not to then I am blessed already by looking after Luke's three boys.
