A humble and happy request: Pictures of pies! -
09-09-2010, 05:21 PM
Hi,
I've heard so much good of the pies you make in Freehold, I was wondering if some of the inspired women that frequent this godly forum might not take some photos of their latest heart-achingly, mouth-wateringly wonderful cookeries and bakeries? I'm sure it would bring the weary man's heart around from worldliness to the comfort of his very own hearth and his devout wife just seeing such delicious pictures
God bless all you lovely ladies of Landover

I don't think any of the ladies even knows how to use a camera, not that their husbands would even let them touch it.
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

I don't know, maybe you are right, I hadn't thought about that I assumed that if they knew how to use a computer and make posts on a forum, they would also be able to maybe use a simple digital camera as well..

Now those bakeries are sinful considering how 'burning' Jesus in an oven reminisceses of his painful walk to Golgatha and crucifixion. But I was wondering if some of the good women of Landover could be persuaded to post some pictures of their skills among pots and pans and sugar and chocolate so we all might have something to look that could bring the mind around to contentment and longing for ones own little homely wife
Regards!!

My personally favorite is an Iowan specialty, snail pie. No, they are not real snails, just tasty pastries done up like this.

lol Maybe those pies you mention Shela are popular in England, but they would scare most men away over here, but I know haggisch is popular in Scotland as well and a friend of mine actually recommended it. HOWEVER, I did mention stuff like sugar and chocolate, so I was thinking more specifically of CAKE pies and not FOOD pies
Here is how Danish women typically make apple pie, the apples on top get nice and soft and cooked and with cinnamon and sugar over it just becomes great and the smell in the kitchen fills the nostrils as well as the heart with too much sweetness almost
If I had to mention ONE type of FOOD pie I like it's the leet-bacon pie, which is very popular here as well
It's basically a sauce based on whipped eggs mixed with vegetables and nicely roast bacon chunks poured in a baking form lined with a tart dough and baked until the sauce becomes 'set' and 'firm' it's incredibly tasty I could go for one right now aamof

Mrs Shela,
I have found, now that I am living in Freehold, that the folk here are not too fond of the more savory type pie variety! I am a former Australian so a good old pie with sauce was a standard for me. Admittedly, James has had several servings of my fish pie and thought it palatable, but is more prone to enjoy my sweet and juicy peach pie any day instead!
I have never made a stargazy pie though as it conjures up throughts of those satan worshippers who are into astrology and there is no way James would LET that type of nonsense into the house!
I would like to show pictures of my pie, but I will have to wait until James is home for that. I cannot work out these new fangled cameras at all!

I cannot believe what I am seeing / hearing That abomination is not a pie it is in reality it known as Quiche.
This slurry of eggs, offal and week old bin water is a favourite of homersexuals and was invented by those enemies of Jesus the French
In fact homersexuals out and about and looking for new sodomite partners use it as a secret signal to display to other homers that they are "available" and are ready to drop their trousers for perverted anal activities.
If you are in a cafe or bar and someone order orders a quiche leave immediately as it is actually a Gay Bar
Now this begs the question Jasper why and where do you consume these un Godly culinary homer "calling cards" ??

If my wife ever baked me a quiche I would take her out in a motor boat and keelhaul her.

This year I discovered Peach-Raspberry pie. I had some Raspberries that were about to go if I didn't use them up, so I threw them in with the Peach pie I was making and it turned out wonderful! The tartness of the raspberries accents the peaches amazingly
Other than that it's usually the standard fruit pies. I always keep one on hand when Seth is home.
As for savory pies, I usually make the birds he shoots into a game bird pot pie and I make his mothers "Scottish mince pie". Yes it's her recipe, but he says there's something "off" with it. Unfortunately his mother has passed away so I can't ask her I just wish he could describe what is off better than "it's just not quite right".

Brother, agreed, it would be inexcusable.
Not even the late and demon possessed Ethel would have served such a namby pamby abomination

Wow that looks amazing, seems to me you are a really good wife and Seth is a lucky man indeed that you grace his household with your devout, faithful comings and goings.. Lucky bastard!!
That said, maybe Seth is being tacit because he feels going into details about food and such is a woman's territory and he feels uncomfortable going there, instead he probably prefers the much more familiar talk of tools and how to do things on the job, what is more, sometimes the jobs today take so much out of a man, that when he is done providing there is so little left to give that the wife actually suffers a bit for it, however he would not do so in the first place if he didn't feel you were worthy of the effort, his mere presence is a voucher for your worth as a wife BiG.
One thing you can do, which I know you do already but even more, is tell him how much you appreciate everything he is doing for you and sacrificing for you, even if you are not capable of understanding it much or if at all! I am sure it is worldly troubles on his mind that prevents him from devoting his full attention to you, his better half, I can tell from your peach-raspberry pie alone that you are a wonderful and devoted wife. May the Lord give you His blessings and see you with many, many happy years together.
Take care you two,
JBD

Homers don't like pie, they only like quiche, so I've been told. As to Auntie Flora or Florence or whatever her name is, I just assumed she was someone from around the forum who did not post anymore, what are you saying, that her husband got mad because she posted somewhere she shouldn't have and threw her in the Red River??
