Practicing Catholics unfazed by abuse scandals; Pope’s popularity increasing

A new poll conducted by CBS News and The New York Times has found that 77% of Catholics who attend Mass weekly say that “the Vatican’s handling of recent child sex abuse reports” has had no effect on how they “feel about the Catholic Church.” An additional 12% of practicing Catholics say that they have a more positive feeling about the Church as a result of the Vatican’s handling of the scandals.

The survey of 1,079 adults was conducted between April 28 and May 2. Results were released on May 4.

88% of Catholics-- practicing and non-practicing-- report that the scandal has had no effect on their dealings with priests. 82% say it will not affect their Mass attendance, 79% say it will have no effect on donations, and 87% say that it will have no effect on their children’s involvement in Church activities.

Indeed, the homer has infiltrated the Vatican to such a degree and the gay is so rampant that they no longer feel the need to apologize for it. They also go one step further, insofar as its just buisness as usual for them. Gays are the root cause of pedophila: fact.

oh my. what those individuals do is horrible, but must you generalize a people as a whole? not all catholics hit their children. all in all, there is so much child abuse in the world and it is really, really sad being that children are a little, uncorrupted, light of god.

You do realize that EVERY German his age would of been a member of the Hitler youth? Being a member says nothing about his character one way or the other.

Since the Pope is the head of a false church with a 2,000 plus year history of shouting out scriptures that support their claim of "spiritual" authority and turning a deaf ear to scripture that does not; it's not suprising that the Pope was able to be a part of Hitler youth. He probably only supported those good things about the Nazi's that he liked. (I understand that they made a very good wienerschnitzle.

It is also the name of the port that Paul spent the winter in Acts 27.

Even if Phoenix did mean the mythical creature, it's a good metaphor for being reborn in Christ.
