Please note that "Goth" is not satanism, it is more fashion than anything else now a days. If you wish to talk about self harm and inflicting pain to one's self, then that would be called being "emo" in todays term. Also, goth is more a genre of music from the late 1980's, after the "post-punk" era of music. Being a "goth" is not to cut yourself, cut others, have murderous intentions, or the like. This is a standard missinterpretation of a commonly held social misconception.

As I see it, the only difference between "emo" and "goth", is that for some people being goth is just not gay enough. Still, it makes very little difference if you are "only" gay, or full blown Liberace gay.
