Pat Robertson Gets It Right: Wife has Alzheimers, Divorce Her -
09-15-2011, 01:08 AM
We at LBC get frustrated with liberal Pat Robertson. He says and does things that are just to far to the left for us.
But, today he advised a questionner to divorce his wife because she has Alzheirmers disease. He has finally found that women are here to serve men, and when they cannot, well, the man has to look elsewhere.

Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

AMEN!
Personally, I think most women use Alzheimers as an excuse.

Great call, Brother! But, since we get so many unfaithful unsaved trash in here, we should provide scriptural support for Brother Robertson's direction. We should also clarify that God makes it very clear that only a MAN may divorce his spouse because she has Alzheimer's. A woman who has a husband with Alzheimer's is NEVER to divorce him. So sayeth our Loving God:
Quote:
When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house. And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife. -- Deuteronomy 24:1-2
|
What could be more unclean that the horrible disease of Alzheimer's? I mean, near the end, the victim drools and craps their pants all the time. What is a God-loving husband to do except get rid of the empty shell of the woman he promised to love forever and get a newer, younger, cleaner wife.
God is great!

If our marriage law were truly grounded in Scripture, that man could simply take on the other woman as a concubine. Problem solved.
This church is dedicated to preaching True Christianity™ and the King James Bible exactly as they are, with no alterations to make them more politically correct for modern liberals. If you think that we've misquoted or twisted Scripture or quoted any verse out of context, please explain in detail how we've done so. Otherwise, if what you read on this site offends you, then you're offended by Almighty God and His Word, not by us.

Robertson ever the liberal. Maybe if Robertson was a REAL man (as in white, Christian Baptist) he would show some love for his wife and beat some since into her. No, he capitulates at the word "Alzheimer" and runs away.
Robertson, what a hippie.
Time to reclaim our FREEDOM from the “Mullah in Chief” and his growing activist voter hoards of socialists, communists, anti-Semites, anti-Christians, atheists, radical gays and lesbians, feminists, illegal immigrants, Muslims, anti-Anglo whites and others.

Good point, Brother Gabriel. Furthermore, as a major health insurer, my company has determined that Alzheimer's is a pre-existing condition and thus is not covered by any of our medical policies. So aside from being dirty and disgusting, it's really expensive to keep an Alzheimer's tard in the hospital or hospice.
Which brings me to an interesting solution to Brother Robertson's problem. I've read that in the recent past, when Eskimos had an elderly person who could no longer keep up with the tribe, they'd stick him or her on an iceberg without a fur coat, and let the cold take care of them. As I understand it, freezing to death isn't such a bad way to go. So really, the solution is simple: just send all the Alzheimer's tards on a one-way trip to the North Pole.
In fact, I sense a business opportunity. My company is planning to start offering "Alztard Lines" North Pole cruises next month.

Of course, due to the global warming hoax, there might not be enough ice up there much longer, but we can provide rubber rafts for a small extra charge.

I'd have to say, though I may be the dissenting opinion, Alzheimer's is a disease, clearly not a fault of the victim of this disease. When one takes their marriage vows, they promise to care for the other in sickness and in health, not out of what may benefit them or please their earthly desires, but out of love. I find the ideas presented in this thread to be disheartening at the least.

Why so judgemental, friend?
Your moral compass needs topping up. You seem to be busy following your conscience when you should be reaching to the inerrant word of the Lord to guide you in tricky decisions.
Follow the Word of God, not your "conscience" is an important message for thise seeking to truly understand Salvation.

Of course it is! Do you think that God would smite the Godly?

Stop right there Papist! Those marriage vows are the invention of the Catlick church to keep its hands on the coins of Mammon! You show me where there is anything like, keeping a woman "in sickness and in health" in the Bible for a man!
It is no coincidence that a man marries a woman and a woman is married to a man! The woman becomes the man's to do with as he will!

I’m sick and tired of such blanket statements. What “ideas”? Is there anything that True Christian™ brothers and sisters stated scripturally incorrect? If so, point the out, specifically! If not… would you like to say that the Holy Bible, the written word of God, is disheartening to you???
I just can’t believe that.
