Notice how any part of the Bible that doesn't agree with modern liberal lifestyle choices is something other than a literal expression of God's eternal will? In this case, it needs to be read figuratively. In other cases, it was "nailed to the Cross" or "meant for the church back then." Whenever liberalism doesn't conform to Scripture, Scripture has to be forced to conform to liberalism. Also, the author cites the Bible verses telling us to beat our children with the rod; just how do you beat a child with a figure of speech?
