I don't know anything about God but I'm here to learn -
12-10-2018, 08:12 PM
Hey everyone ! I'm a 18 years old french guy, and I have no idea about any of the things here.
See, as some of you may know, France is a country where religion is cast out of schools and all this, so I never learned anything about it, as I also grew up in an atheist household.
From what I've seen all of you here know a *lot* of things on the Bible and all that, so if you don't mind I'd like you all to help me learn and grow.
Thanks !

Well hello and welcome to our friendly forum! You'll notice Americans aren't rebelling and making a public nuisance of ourselves in those goofy yellow workman's vests like they do in Paris. It's because you French have made Christ illegal, and now you must face the sad consequences. With Christ as our Center, it is no coincidence America is run like a well oiled machine! You might find Pastor Zeke's sermon about the difference between Christians and atheists to be particularly helpful to you!
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

have you asked your grandparents what they did to fail raising your parents & did not teach them how to be good Christians?
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

Thanks for your welcome !
And well, I may not dress all neat like the christians on this pic, but beside this and the fact that I'm not sure I believe in God yet, I'm polite, never did drugs or drank alcohol.
And I guess you're right about acting like this if we all listened to the Bible, but atheists are often greedy, and Macron doesn't seem as good with economy as Trump is.
And if I may add, Christ isn't "Illegal", we just don't learn about it in school and we stopped swearing on the bible as religion and the state are now separated.

Hello dear, and welcome! It is a relief to hear that you are polite. Feel free to ask us anything about our faith.
Did you know that in America, a yellow jacket is a particularly nasty sort of wasp?

I never knew my grandparents, they died before I was born, thank you for reminding me.
They were most likely atheists too, as France removed sunday school about 200 years ago now.

Nope, I had no idea ! There's still lots of things I don't know about the english/american language.
And my question about your faith would be, to keep it short, what is *everything*. I really know nothing about it, beside the fact that God created everything, and then had Jesus who died for our sins but Jesus is also God, which is also really confusing for me.
I know some other things but really not much.
(I also see your grammar nazi emote there, sorry if I'm making mistakes, my english is good but far from perfect)

Well, that's quite a big question! My suggestion would be that you start by reading the Bible (King James Version, 1611) and then come back with something a little more specific. You may have trouble finding a copy in your country, but never fear! It is available free, online, here:
The best way to read it is to start at the beginning, read right through to the end and then stop. But feel free to ask questions as you go along.

Don't worry about that. You will find us very tolerant of foreigners. About 5 miles from where I live, on a clear day we could see France if we chose to look in that direction, but absolutely nobody expects the French to speak proper English, let alone write it.

I don't think I have the time to read EVERYTHING tonight, as I need to go sleep soonish to be ready for school tomorrow.
And I do my best to speak proper English. I really enjoy this language, even moreso than French. It sounds smoother, as long as it's not me speaking it.
And thanks for your tip, I'll be sure to try and read all of that whenever I've got the time for it.
One question I could ask you, however, is what is the main differences between christians, catholics and orthodoxes.
Thank you again for taking the time to answer me, I really appreciate it

Fortunately for you, the Good Lord does not require a deep understanding, but faith. Faith, according to the Good Lord, means believing something before you find out if it's true or not (Hebrews 11:1)!
The short version is: All you need to know is humans are naturally born sinners. Each and every one (Romans 5:19). The Good Lord will not tolerate sinners in Heaven (Revelation 21:27) so He sent His Son (who is also Him, but again, don't worry about the thinking, just trust) to die over the long weekend almost 2000 years ago so that those who do believe can be spared the eternal punishment created by the Good Lord for sinners (1 Timothy 2:6; 1 Corinthians 15:4).
But there's more! People with True Faith™, that is True Christians™ can look forward not only to avoiding eternal torture, but can look forward to eternal reward! The Good Lord tells us what Heaven will look like (no sea -Revelation 21:1; 1500 square mi - Revelation 21:2, 16; there will be only one tree but we won't eat its fruit because it will be for healing of nations - Revelation 22:2). He also tells us what we can expect (no more crying - Revelation 7:17; new, immortal bodies for us - 1 Corinthians 15:42-44; Revelation 21:4; no eating or drinking, just righteousness and joy - Romans 14:17)! AND we'll be so happy that we'll just want to sing Praises about Jesus for ever and ever and ever!

Christians believe in Christ and will sit at His Right Hand Side come the Glory. Catholics are pagans who believe in cannibalism and worship Mary. No one takes Orthodox seriously as they are all old Greek and Slavic ladies who simply wrap up their superstitions in Christianese and feta cheese. They also breed the most homosexuals in Europe, so ew.

There is something seriously wrong with your priorities. You need to get rid of your yellow jacket, stop masturbating to pretty French girls, stop wasting time on school and start studying your Holy Bible. Only studying and obeying God's word will prevent you from burning in Hell for all eternity.
Jesus said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6
Freedom means voting for Donald Trump!
To most "Christians" The Bible is like a license agreement. They just scroll to the bottom and click "I agree". All those "Christians" will burn in Hell!

I am really interested in the conflict in your country. Who is going to surrender first, honoring the long term tradition?

Here are a few more facts to clear the confusion: God also created the devil, who then tempted Eve, leading to all of us being sinners (so Jesus was born to clean up the mess); at one point God also got so tired of people that He made a Flood in which all living things died, except for selected specimens of people and animals. That was a lot of drowning kittens, for sure! Anyway, God sends to Hell all people who do not believe in Him (John 3:18), which is a lot of people when you include babies who died in their infancy. They will all roast in Hell forever!

Christians follow the Bible. Catholics and Orthodox believe what generations of their church leaders made up over the centuries, even when these things clearly contradict the Bible.

For some reason, I always thought French people were cheese-eating surrender monkeys. Anyway, and I hope you mend your sinful ways so you don't end up being raped by the devil's demons in Hell!

Hey everyone ! Really sorry about not coming back to thank all of you for taking the time to answer, I was busy at school.
So first, thanks to the persons who answered my question about the differences between christians and catholics.

Come on, this "tradition" isn't even THAT old. From what I've seen on internet this reputation comes mostly from the Second World War, meaning that most people here should agree with France's desicion since Petain allied with a Jew hater, and most people here seem to dislike Jew quite intensely.
And I really think that the state will surrender first. I'm a patriot (probably closer from a nationalist), and Macron doesn't seem to like his people very much.

The cheese eating part is true, the rest not so much.
And for now I'm more looking to be convinced about God being real. (French cheese tastes awesome by the way)
