Puerto Rico is holding a referendum to decide if they want to become a US state. Rick Santorum said he`ll ignore the results of that vote until the Puerto Ricans quit speaking Spanish so much.

Puerto Rico is an imperial possesion and its people should not have the same rights as REAL American citizens until they stop babbling in that foreign jibber-jabber.

If God wanted Puerto Rico to speak Spanish, He would not have allowed Spain to lose the Spanish-American war. But you Puerto Rican losers lost, so you have to speak the superior language. Deal with it.

Santorum’s comments left one of his supporters, Oreste Ramos, so upset that the former Puerto Rican senator rescinded his endorsement.

“Although such a requirement would be unconstitutional, and also would clash with our sociological and linguistic reality, as a question of principle I cannot back a person who holds that position,” Oreste said, according to El Vocero. “As a Puerto Rican and Spanish-speaking U.S. citizen, I consider the position of Mr. Santorum offensive.”
